كنيسة مار أنطونيوس الكبير القديمة - الرميلةهي كنيسة بعقدٍ سريريٍّ وحنية واحدة، تعود للقرون الوسطى. بدايةً بنى هذا المكان المسلمون الشيعة، بدليل إتجاه البناء نحو الجنوب وليس الشرق، كما هي عادة الكنائس. في القرن الثامن عشر، وبعد معارك مع الدروز ترك الشيعة البلدة وأسكنوا الموارنة مكانهم، وأعطوهم البناء فحوّلوه إلى كنيسةٍ على اسم مار أنطونيوس الكبير. تعرّضت الكنيسة للتخريب خلال الحرب الأهليّة اللبنانيّة سنة ١٩٨٥، ورمّمت في تسعينيّات القرن العشرين.The church of St Anthony the Great - RmeilehThe church is a medieval crib vaulted structure. In the beginning, the building was built by the Chiites, for this reason it is oriented to the south and not to the east like other churches. In the XVIIIth century the Chiites left the village after their battles with the Druze. The Maronites came along and settled in and were given the old shrine that was converted into a church dedicated to St Anthony the Great. The church was severely sabotaged during the Lebanese civil war in 1985, and it was renovated a decade later.

دير مار سركيس وباخوس من أقدم الأديار في لبنان الشمالي. بُنيت الكنيسة الأولى في القرن الثامن، على أنقاض معبدٍ كنعانيّ، في هذه الكنيسة نال البطريرك اسطفانوس الدويهيّ درجة الكهنوت سنة ١٦٥٦. أمّا كنيسة السيّدة فبُنيت عام ١١٩٨ زمن الصليبيّين. سنة ١٤٧٣، أصبح الدّير كرسيًّا لأساقفة إهدن، بولاية آل الدويهيّ. رَمّم الدير المطران بولس يمّين عام ١٤٠٤، والمطران بولس الدويهيّ عام ١٦٥٩، والخوري مخائيل الدويهي عام ١٦٧٠ والبطريرك إسطفان الدويهي عام ١٦٩٠. تسلّمته الرهبنة الأنطونيّة في أول ايلول سنة ١٧٣٩ فبنوا العقود أمام الكنيستين، والدّير الجديد والكنيسة فوقها. استضاف الدّير الحبيس فرانسوا ده شاستويل، والمونسنيور ميسلن، ويوسف بك كرم، والعديد من البطاركة والأعيان. يلعب الدّير اليوم دورًا ثقافيًّا كبيرًا بالإضافة لدوره الروحيّ.

The monastery of Sts Sergius and Bacchus Ras el Naher - Ehden

The monastery is one of the oldest in Northern Lebanon. The first church was built in the VIIIth century over a Kanaanean temple. In it was ordained a priest the later patriarch Estephan el Douweihy in 1656. The second church dedicated to the Madonna wad built during the crusades in 1198. In 1473 the monastery became the seat of the bishops of Ehden under the jurisdiction of the Douaihy family. In 1739 the monastery became property of the Antonine Maronite Order. The monks built the vaults linking the two churches, the new monastery and another church above the old one. The monastery was restored many times over its long history. It was visited by many patriarchs and notable figures such as the hermit Francois de Chasteuil, Mgr Miselin… The monastery is not only a high spiritual place but also a great cultural hub.

كنيسة مار الياس - حملايا

سنة ١٩٠٤ قُسِّمت كنيسة مار جرجس بين آل الراعي وآل الريّس. فقرّر يوسف الريّس البقاء مع أخواله في الكنيسة القديمة، لكنّه عاد سنة ١٩٠٦ وقرّر إنشاء كنيسة جديدة لمار جرجس مع عددٍ من عائلات البلدة. بقيت هذه الكنيسة مًقفلة حتّى ستينيّات القرن العشرين حين أّعيد افتتاحها وتكريسها على إسم مار الياس. الكنيسة مسقوفة وتحوي ثلاث حنايا. تضمّ الكنيسة ساعة طنّانة، وتحوي لوحةُ من عمل حبيب سرور.

The church of St Elijah - Hemlaya

In 1904 the old St George’s church was divided between the Rahi and the Rayess families. Back then Youssef El Rayess decided to stay with his uncles, yet in 1906 he decided to build a new church dedicated to St George with a number of the village’s families. This church remained closed until the sixties when it was rededicated to St Elijah. The church is a roofed structure with three apses, it holds a clocktower and contains a painting of St Elijah by Habib Srour.

كنيسة مار أسطفان - لحفد

الكنيسة بالأصل كانت معبدًا رومانيًّا على تلّة حوّله الصليبيّون إلى بُرجٍ للمراقبة، سكنه مقدَّموا لحفد. سنة ١٨١٠ تحوّل المكان إلى كنيسةٍ بعقدٍ مُصالبٍ لتكون رعيّة البلدة. مذبح الكنيسة ولوحة مار أسطفان، مُستوردان من إيطاليا بسعي من أبناء البلدة في بيروت أواخر القرن التاسع عشر. حمل إبن لحفد الطوباوي أسطفان نعمه شفاعة صاحب الكنيسة وتكنّى باسمه عند دخوله الرهبانيّة.

The church of St Stephen - Lehfed

The church was originally a pagan roman temple on a hill that was converted into a watch tower by the crusaders, after they left the land the maronite lords of Lehfed used it as residence. In 1810 the crossed vault structure took it’s current shape and was converted into a parochial church. The altar and the painting are imported from Italy with the help of the villagers who lived in Beirut at the end of the XIXth century. Blessed Stephen Nehme, the son of Lehfed, took the name of the Church's patron saint when he entered the monastic life.
