دير مار ادنا - العاقورة

ادنا هو لقب سريانيّ لمار طراخونيوس، وهو من القدّيسين الأكثر شهرة عند موارنة القرون الوسطى. بني هذا الدّير سنة ٥٠٩ على أنقاضٍ رومانيّة ما زالت ماثلة، ويتألّف من كنيسة بخوروسين ما يزال القسم الجنوبيّ منها ماثل. بقيّة الدّير ودير البنات أي دير الراهبات العابدات الذي بقربه أنقاض. قنطرة الحنية مزيّنة بالعديد من الصلبان والنقوش التي ترمز للتجسد والفداء. كان الدّير مقرًّا لأساقفة العاقورة مدى قرون ومن أشهرهم البطريرك يوحنا السابع العاقوري الذي توفي سنة ١٣٥٧.

The monastery of St Edna - Aqoura

Edna is a title given by syriacs to St Trakhonius, who was one of the most venerated saints by the medieval Maronites. The monastery was built in 509 over roman ruins that are still visible, and it consists of a two aped church, with the southern part of the church still standing. The rest of the church and monastery and the adjacent nunnery are all in ruins. The apse is decorated with crosses and symbols of the Incarnation and Redemption. The monastery was the seat of Aqoura’s bishops for centuries, the most famous of them was patriarch John VII El Aqoury who died in 1357.

The church dates back to the Phoenician era with a high vault. The great frensh orientalist Ernest Renan retraced its history with its huge stone pillars. The church had a great Phoenician tympant with two snakes revolving around a globe. The huge stone was taken to the Louvre museum by Renan.
The final stage and most recent construction dates back to 1870 when the church was rededicated by bishop Yousef el Marid.

تعود الى العهد الفينيقي لأنها مبنيّة بعقد قصبة مرتفعة وكانت معبدًا وثنيًّا.
أشار إرنست رينان الى وجود اعمِدة أثريّة استُعملت في مداميك البناء. رُمّمت وزيد عليها مع تعاقب المراحل التاريخيّة.
رينان انتزع عتبة الكنيسة وأرسلها الى متحف اللوفر في باريس، وهي تحمل نقشًا من الرموز التي كانت شائعةً في الدين الفينيقي يمثّل كرةً تلتفُّ حولها حيّاتٌ مجتمعة الأذناب في أعلاها
رُمِّمت هذه الكنيسة عدَّة مرّات، وكُرِّست عام 1870 بيد المطران يوسف المريض. وصورة مار جرجس فيها هي بريشة الرسّام بولس شلافك

دير مار روحانا البقيعة - عرمون

سنة ١٧٠٣ جاء قرار بناء دير مار روحانا، وكان ديرًا مشتركًا للرهبان والعابدات، في موضع مدرسةٍ قديمة لتعليم الأحداث على اسم السيّدة. وسّعه البطريرك طوبيّا الخازن ليكون مقرًّا له خلال إقامته في كسروان. سنة ١٧٧٥ ترهّب في الدير قيس بن رامح الخازن وهو المطران جرمانوس الخازن رئيس أساقفة دمشق. في ٢٥ أيلول ١٨٢٦ فصل البطريرك يوسف حبيش الرهبان عن الدير. رُمّم الدير على عدّة مراحل آخرها سنة ٢٠١٦ حين كُرّس المذبح الجديد. الدير وقف بعناية آل زوين تحت ولاية البطريركيّة المارونيّة.

The Monastery of St. Rouhana is located in Al Baqi'a - Aramoun.

In 1703, a decision was made to build a joint monastery for monks and nuns on the site of an old school dedicated to the Virgin Mary. Patriarch Tobia El Khazen renovated it to use as his residence during his stay in Keserwan. On September 25, 1826, Patriarch Youssef Hobeish separated the monks from the monastery. The monastery underwent several stages of renovation, with the last one in 2016 when the new altar was consecrated. The monastery is under the jurisdiction of the Maronite Patriarchate and is entrusted to the care of the Zwein family.
