الصليب - دير القمرسنة ١٩٢٩ قَرَّرَ الطوباويّ ّيعقوب الكبوشي بناء نُصُب الصليب على أعلى تلّة في دير القمر في محلّة كانت تُعرف بقلعة صور. وكان الهدف من البناء أن يُرفع صليب فوق مثوى من ماتوا دون جنازة في حرب سنة ١٩١٤، وأن يكون الصليب مواجهًا لبلدة بعقلين علامةً لحبّ المسيح لأبنائها ورحمته تجاههم على حدّ قول الأب يعقوب. وهَبَ الأرض لهذا المشروع ألمُثَلَّث الرحمات المطران أوغسطينوس البستاني رئيس أساقفة صيدا. إنتهت ألأشغال ببناء كنيسة صغيرة ترتفع عليها قاعدة يرتكز عليها الصليب، وقد تبرعت ١٤ عائلة من دير القمر ببناء مراحل درب الصليب تُحيط بالنُصب. وفي ١٤ أيلول سنة ١٩٣٢ تَمَّ تكريس المقام. تعرّض للتخريب خلال الحرب الأهليّة وأعيد ترميمه .The Cross - Deir el QamarIn 1929 Blessed Fr Jacob Haddad OFM, decided to build a cross on a hill called Qalaat Sour in Deir el Kamar. His ambition was lead by a desire to have a cross raised over all those who died in the war of 1914 without a proper burial, and that the cross would be facing the town of Baakline to be a sign of the Lord’s love and mercy towards its citizens. To accomplish this noble project, the bishop of Sidon Mgr Agustin el Boustany donated the land. A small chapel was built and over it the cross was raised. To help with the project, 14 families from the town donated to build the stations of the cross. The shrine was inaugurated and consecrated on the 14th of September 1932. The shrine was sabotaged during the civil war and restored during peace times.

الكنيسة الحاليّة مبنيّة على أنقاض كنيستين: الأولى مجهولة تاريخ البناء وكانت صغيرة واطئة بنيت قرب مصب الينبوع وكانت قائمة في القرن السادس عشر، الثانية وكانت تُعرف بسيّدة الجوزة، بدأ بناؤها سنة ١٧٠٣ في مكانها الحاليّ. كرّسها في ١٠ أيّار سنة ١٧١٦ البطريرك يعقوب عوّاد، جلب لوحاتها من روما الخورأسقف يوسف السمعاني. سنة ١٩٠٣ بوشر بناء الكنيسة الحاليّة، وهي بازيليكيّة الطراز بثلاث أسواق وعقدٍ بغداديّ، تحوي خمس مذابح رخاميّة. كرّسها سنة ١٩٤٠ الخورأسقف يوسف الحايك. رمّمت الكنيسة عدّة مرّات. وهي أكبر كنيسة في بيت شباب تشتهر بأبراج أجراسها.

The church of our Lady the Major - Beit Shabab

The current church was built over two older churches. The first one was built near the village’s water fountain, its history is unknown, yet it was in use during the XVIth century. The second one was in the current place, it was known as our Lady of the Walnut tree. Construction began in 1703 and it was consecrated by Patriarch Yaaqoub Awad on the 10th of May 1716. The paintings of the church were brought from Rome by Mgr Youssef el Semaani. The current church was built in 1903, it is a basilical structure with three naves and five marble altars. It was consecrated in 1940 by Mgr Youssef el Hayek. The church underwent many restorations, it is famous for the three bell towers on its facade

تأسّس الدير في عام 1771 من قِبل مجموعة من الرهبان الموارنة الذين كانوا يسعون إلى إنشاء مكان للعبادة ل في قلب مدينة زحلة لخدمة المجتمع المارونيّ المحلي. نما دير القديس أنطونيوس على مرّ القرون في الحجم والأهميّة وأصبح مركزًا للعلم والروحانيّة. ورغم تعرّضه للحروب والغزوات والزلازل، إلّا أنه تم إعادة بنائه وترميمه عدة مرّات. تُعدّ كنيسة القديس أنطونيوس نقطة المحور في الدير، حيث تم بناؤها في منتصف القرن العشرين فوق الكنيسة الأصلية. ويتميّز الداخل بلوحات جداريّة رائعة ونوافذ زجاجية ملونة برسوم الفنان اللبناني أسعد رنّو. في الكنيسة مقام جانبي صغير مخصص للقديسة تيريزا. تشتهر مكتبة الدير كذلك بمجموعتها الضخمة من الكتب والمخطوطات والتحف القديمة. وبشكل عام، يُعدّ دير القديس أنطونيوس موقعًا ثقافيًا وروحيًا مهمًّا في زحلة، له تراث غنيّ يجذب الزوار من جميع أنحاء العالم.

The monastery of St. Anthony the great - Zahle

The monastery was established in 1771 by a group of Maronite monks with the intention of creating a place of worship and reflection for the local Maronite community in Zahle. Throughout the years, it has grown in both size and significance, developing into a hub for learning and spirituality. Despite experiencing wars, invasions, and earthquakes, the monastery has been reconstructed and renovated multiple times. The focal point of the monastery is the church of St. Anthony, which was built in the mid XXth century over the original church. The interior is decorated with stunning frescoes, stained glass windows created by the Lebanese artist Assaad Renno, and intricate altars. The church has a small lateral chapel dedicated to St. Therese of Lisieux. Another noteworthy feature of the monastery is its library, which houses an extensive collection of books, manuscripts, and ancient artifacts. Overall, the monastery is a significant cultural and spiritual site in Zahle, Lebanon, with a rich heritage that continues to attract visitors from all over the world.

دير مار سركيس وباخوس من أقدم الأديار في لبنان الشمالي. بُنيت الكنيسة الأولى في القرن الثامن، على أنقاض معبدٍ كنعانيّ، في هذه الكنيسة نال البطريرك اسطفانوس الدويهيّ درجة الكهنوت سنة ١٦٥٦. أمّا كنيسة السيّدة فبُنيت عام ١١٩٨ زمن الصليبيّين. سنة ١٤٧٣، أصبح الدّير كرسيًّا لأساقفة إهدن، بولاية آل الدويهيّ. رَمّم الدير المطران بولس يمّين عام ١٤٠٤، والمطران بولس الدويهيّ عام ١٦٥٩، والخوري مخائيل الدويهي عام ١٦٧٠ والبطريرك إسطفان الدويهي عام ١٦٩٠. تسلّمته الرهبنة الأنطونيّة في أول ايلول سنة ١٧٣٩ فبنوا العقود أمام الكنيستين، والدّير الجديد والكنيسة فوقها. استضاف الدّير الحبيس فرانسوا ده شاستويل، والمونسنيور ميسلن، ويوسف بك كرم، والعديد من البطاركة والأعيان. يلعب الدّير اليوم دورًا ثقافيًّا كبيرًا بالإضافة لدوره الروحيّ.

The monastery of Sts Sergius and Bacchus Ras el Naher - Ehden

The monastery is one of the oldest in Northern Lebanon. The first church was built in the VIIIth century over a Kanaanean temple. In it was ordained a priest the later patriarch Estephan el Douweihy in 1656. The second church dedicated to the Madonna wad built during the crusades in 1198. In 1473 the monastery became the seat of the bishops of Ehden under the jurisdiction of the Douaihy family. In 1739 the monastery became property of the Antonine Maronite Order. The monks built the vaults linking the two churches, the new monastery and another church above the old one. The monastery was restored many times over its long history. It was visited by many patriarchs and notable figures such as the hermit Francois de Chasteuil, Mgr Miselin… The monastery is not only a high spiritual place but also a great cultural hub.
