تأسّست أولى الأخويّات المريميّة في دير القمر سنة ١٧٦٩، وبنى أعضاؤها كابيلّا سيّدة البشارة سنة ١٧٧٧ في حارة الخندق. رُمّمت سنة ١٨٢٢. ومع إعلان عقيدة الحبل بلا دنس سنة ١٨٥٤ كُرّس التمثال الجديد والأخويّة لإكرام سيّدتنا مريم العذراء البريئة من دنس الخطيئة الأصليّة، وأصبحت هذه الكنيسة تحتفل بيوم ٨ كانون الأوّل عيدًا لها. شهدت هذه الكنيسة إجتماع رجالات دير القمر ليلة مجازر ١٨٦٠. تتميّز الكنيسة كونها حافظة لذاكرة إحدى أقدم أخويّات لبنان، وهندستها الشرقيّة التي تمثّل العهد المعنيّ بمدخلها والدار التي تتقدّمها.The first Marian Confraternity was founded in Deir el Qamar in 1769, and this chapel was founded by the members in 1777, in the Al Khandak neighborhood. The church was restored in 1822. In 1854, and with the proclamation of the Immaculate Conception dogma, a Marian statue was brought to the church and all of the confraternity was consecrated to the Immaculate Mother. Since then, the church became a shrine for the Immaculate Conception and its feast day became on the 8th of December. The church was the witness to the last reunion of Deir el Qamar’s men on the night of 1860’s massacre. This church is a memorial of one of Lebanon’s oldest confraternities. The architecture is one of the rarest models of the Maan’s era with a decorated portico and a frontal patio

Built in 1660, the church played a great role in the history of the village, near it a school was built, and it was the main parish church before that of our Lady was built in the nineteenth century.
The church houses a collection of oil paintings dating back to the construction era: St George, an Immaculata, St Mamas, St Peter.
In the church’s sacristy are found the mortal remains of Fr. Gerges Srour 1688-1735, a holy priest with the title Al Qurbany, (the Eucharistic) because of his great devotion to the blessed sacrament and the great miracles that happened during elevation time in his Mass as attested by witnesses.


يعود البناء الى سنة ١٦٦٠. لعبت هذه الكنيسة دورًا هامًا في تاريخ البلدة اذ كانت الكنيسة الرعائية قبل بناء كنيسة السيذة. بقربها كانت تقوم مدرسة للأحداث. تحوي زيتيات تعود لفترة البناء: مار جرجس، السيدة، مار ماما، مار بطرس.
يرقد على رجاء القيامة في سكرستية الكنيسة رجل الله الخوري جرجس سرور ١٦٨٨-١٧٣٥، والمعروف بكراماته وعجائبه وعبادته للقربان الأقدس إذ كان وجه المسيح يظهر على القربانة عند الرفعة كما شهد معاصروه.

سنة ١٩٠٤ قُسِّمت كنيسة مار جرجس بين آل الراعي وآل الريّس. فقرّر يوسف الريّس البقاء مع أخواله في الكنيسة القديمة، لكنّه عاد سنة ١٩٠٦ وقرّر إنشاء كنيسة جديدة لمار جرجس مع عددٍ من عائلات البلدة. بقيت هذه الكنيسة مًقفلة حتّى ستينيّات القرن العشرين حين أّعيد افتتاحها وتكريسها على إسم مار الياس. الكنيسة مسقوفة وتحوي ثلاث حنايا. تضمّ الكنيسة ساعة طنّانة، وتحوي لوحةُ من عمل حبيب سرور.

The church of St Elijah - Hemlaya

In 1904 the old St George’s church was divided between the Rahi and the Rayess families. Back then Youssef El Rayess decided to stay with his uncles, yet in 1906 he decided to build a new church dedicated to St George with a number of the village’s families. This church remained closed until the sixties when it was rededicated to St Elijah. The church is a roofed structure with three apses, it holds a clocktower and contains a painting of St Elijah by Habib Srour.

كنيسة مار يوحنّا المعمدان الأثريّة - صليما

يعود بناء الكنيسة إلى سنة ١٦٥٨، فمع توافد الموارنة إلى البلدة شرعوا ببناء كنيسة. ساعدهم على بنائها الآباء الكبوشيّون الذين بدؤا رسالتهم في دير مار بطرس في البلدة وجلبوا لإعانة موارنة البلدة معونة ماديّة من الكاردينال ريوشوليو وزير الملك لويس الثالث عشر. سنة ١٦٨٤ كرّس المذبح البطريرك أسطفان الدويهيّ. البناء كناية عن عقدِ مُصالب، يتميّز ببابٍ فخمٍ قدّمه أمراء آل أبي اللمع. تعرضت الكنيسة للتخريب إبّان الحرب الأهليّة اللبنانيّة. ورمّمت في تسعينيّات القرن العشرين

St. John the Baptist Ancient Church - Salima

The construction of the church dates back to the year 1658 when the Maronites began to settle in the town and started building a church. The Capuchin fathers, who began their mission at the Monastery of St. Peter in the town, assisted them in its construction. They brought financial assistance from Cardinal Richelieu, the Minister of King Louis XIII, to support the Maronites of the town. In 1684, Patriarch Estephan Douaihy consecrated the altar. The building is in the shape of a crucifix and is distinguished by a magnificent door donated by the Al Abi Al Lamaa family. The church suffered damage during the Lebanese Civil War and was restored in the 1990s.
