كنيسة مار الياس - بلاط جبيل الكنيسة في الأساس مبنيّة بحجارة معبدٍ رومانيّ بُني في زمان الإمبراطور انطونان التقيّ كما تشير النقوش اليونانيّة على جدرانها. تحوي الكنيسة على عدّة آثار من المعبد القديم كتمثال صنمٍ في آخرها. في القرون الوسطى تزيّنت الكنيسة بمجموعة من الجداريّات ما زال قسمٌ منها ماثل. الكنيسة كناية عن بناء بنمط بازيليكيّ بثلاث أسواقٍ وعقدٍ سريريّ. في عهد المماليك إستُعملت هذه الكنيسة كخانٍ للمُسافرين، وفي بداية العهد العُثماني إستُعملت إسطبلاً للخيل في قسمٍ منها، وفي القسم الآخر أُنشئت معصرة للزيتون. وآلت ملكيتها لمشايخ آل حمادة الشيعة. وفي أوآخر القرن الثامن عشر قَدَمَ الشيخ وهبه الدحداح الأول من كسروان وإستملك بلاط، فَحوَّل الإسطبل الذي أصبح من أملاكه الى كنيسة على إسم مار الياس وأعاد ترميمها، فكرَّسها المطران يوسف المريض في 4 كانون الأول ١٨٧٠. وفي العام ١٩١٩ ضربتها صاعقة، فأعاد الشيخ إسكندر كنعان وهبه الدحداح ترميمها. وفي العام ١٩٧٨ قامت المديريّة العامّة للآثار بترميمها على الشكل الذي تقوم عليه الآن. تضمّ الكنيسة لوحةً لمار الياس من عمل كنعان ديب الدلبتاوي. The church of St Elias - Blat Byblos The church was built with the spolias of an ancient roman temple built during the reign of the emperor Antoninus the pious. The church holds many remanences of the temple : greek inscriptions and an idol. The church’s structure is a three naved basilical plan with a crib vault. It used to be covered with frescoes some of them can be seen today. During the Mamluk’s era the church was converted into a caravanserai. Later on it was converted into a stable and an olive pressing mill and remained so during the Ottoman era when it became property of the Shia lords of the Hemade family. The church was bought by the Sheikh Wehbe el Dahdah when he came from Kesserwan and bought the village of Blat. The church was reconsecrated and dedicated to the Saint Elias the Prophet by bishop Youssef el Marid of the 4th of december 1870. It was damaged by a lightning stroke and restored in 1919 by Sheikh Kanaan Wehbe Dahdah. The church was renovated by the Lebanese Directorate General of Antiquities in 1978. The church holds a painting of Elias by Kanaan Dib.

دير مار الياس الراس – جعيتا

تأسّس الدّير في مزرعة الراس بعد جلاء المماليك عن كسروان. عام ١٧٠٤ كان الدّير بعهدة القسّ بطرس صفرونيوس الحاقلانيّ من زوق مصبح، الذي ترهّب فيه مع رهبانه العبّاد.
قرّر المجمع اللبنانيّ المنعقد سنة ١٧٣٦ إلغاء الأديار المزدوجة، وفصل أديار الرهبان عن أديار الراهبات، وشدّد على أن يكون للراهبات قانون خاصّ. عند الإنتقال إلى مرحلة تطبيق مبدأ الفصل إتّفق القاصد الرسوليّ يوسف السمعانيّ مع المطران عبدالله قراعلي، على إنشاء دير قانونيّ يكون مثالًا وقدوة لسائر أديار الراهبات في دير ما الياس الراس. وهكذا آل الدير إلى الرّهبانيّة اللبنانيّة المارونيّة.
باشر الرهبان، بعد استلام الدّير، بناء كنيسةٍ ودير مخصّص لسكن راهبات محصّنات فبني الدّير الجديد مع كنيسته الكبيرة. فُتحت أبواب الدير في ٦ كانون الثاني ١٧٤٠. ولا يزال إلى اليوم واحة صلاةٍ وتأملٍ، ومزارًا يقصده المؤمنون من كلّ حدبٍ وصوب.

The convent of St Elias el Ras - Jeita

The convent was built in the farm of El Rass after the Mamluks left Keserwan. In 1704 the convent was under the custody of Boutros Safronius el Haklany, a monk from Zouk Mosbeh. In 1736 the Lebanese Council dictated that nunneries shall be separated from monks' monasteries, thereby abolishing mixed monasteries, and giving nuns their own convents and rules. When it was time to apply the new rules, Monsignor Youssef El Semaany, the papal nuncio, and Bishop Abdallah Qaraaly, decided to give St Elias’s convent to the nuns of the newly formed Lebanese Order. It was decided to build a new convent suitable for contemplative nuns with a big church. The new convent was consecrated on the 6th of January 1740, and is still a haven for prayer and meditation, and a shrine for all pilgrims.

دير مارت مورا - اهدن

بحسب البطريرك الدويهيّ بني الدّير سنة ١٣٣٩. كان دير مرت مورا أوّل كرسي لمطرانيّة إهدن، قبل انتقالها إلى دير مار سركيس رأس النهر. سنة ١٦٩٥ أعطى البطريرك الدويهيّ الدّير لمؤسسي الرهبانيّة الحلبيّة اللبنانيّة ليختبروا قانونهم الجديد وحياتهم المشتركة، فانضمّ إليهم آخر ناسك عاش فيه وهو أنطونيوس الإهدني. سنة ١٦٩٨ انشقّ بعض الرهبان عن القرعلي وأسسوا رهبانيّة جديدة مع جبرايل حوّا في مارت مورا لم تدم طويلًا. يتألّف الدير من كنيسة ذات عقد سريريّ، وغرفة كبيرة ملاصقة. رُمّم الدّير سنة ١٩٨٣.

The monastery of St Moura - Ehden

According to Patriarch Doueihy the monastery was built in 1339, and was the first seat for the bishops of Ehden before they moved tho St Serge’s monastery. In 1695 Patriarch Doueihy gave the monastery to the newly founded Alepan Lebanese Order, so the founding fathers could experience their new monastic rule and communal life. The last hermit of the monastery Antonios el Ehdeny joined the order. In 1698 the first split in the order happened and some monks decided to start a new order with Gebrayel Hawa in Mart Moura. This second order didn’t persist. The monastery consists of a crib vaulted church with an adjacent room, and was restored in 1983.

كنيسة السيّدة - عين إبل

بدأ بناء الكنيسة سنة ١٨٦٦ بمسعى من الخوري إبراهيم خريش، اذ لاحظ المطران بطرس البستانيّ أن الكنيسة القديمة أصبحت ضيّقة وكانت الرعيّة تتمّم واجباتها الدينيّة في بيت الكاهن. فبدأ مشروع بناء الكنيسة الكبيرة. في الكنيسة ثلاث لوحات واحدة منها نسخة عن لوحة السيّدة والطفل لرافاييل، مار مارون ومار يوسف للفنّان مارون ضو. في باحة الكنيسة نصب لشهداء البلدة الذين رقدوا بالربّ سنة ١٩٢٠. ومنحوتة مصلوب على شجرة طبيعيّة.

The church of the Our Lady- Ain Ibl

The church was built in 1866 with Fr Ibrahim Khoreish. Back then Bishop Boutros el Boustany noticed that the old church is too small for the congregation that was celebrating mass in the priest’s house. The church holds a replica of Rafael’s Madonna, St Maroun and St Joseph by Maroun Daou. In the church’s backyard stands the memorial of the martyrs of the town who were martyred in 1920 and the crucified put on a natural tree.
