Beit Chabab – The church of St Anthony the Great

History: 

Built in 1660, the church played a great role in the history of the village, near it a school was built, and it was the main parish church before that of our Lady was built in the nineteenth century.
The church houses a collection of oil paintings dating back to the construction era: St George, an Immaculata, St Mamas, St Peter.
In the church’s sacristy are found the mortal remains of Fr. Gerges Srour 1688-1735, a holy priest with the title Al Qurbany, (the Eucharistic) because of his great devotion to the blessed sacrament and the great miracles that happened during elevation time in his Mass as attested by witnesses.


يعود البناء الى سنة ١٦٦٠. لعبت هذه الكنيسة دورًا هامًا في تاريخ البلدة اذ كانت الكنيسة الرعائية قبل بناء كنيسة السيذة. بقربها كانت تقوم مدرسة للأحداث. تحوي زيتيات تعود لفترة البناء: مار جرجس، السيدة، مار ماما، مار بطرس.
يرقد على رجاء القيامة في سكرستية الكنيسة رجل الله الخوري جرجس سرور ١٦٨٨-١٧٣٥، والمعروف بكراماته وعجائبه وعبادته للقربان الأقدس إذ كان وجه المسيح يظهر على القربانة عند الرفعة كما شهد معاصروه.

كنيسة مار يوحنّا الحبيب - جربتا

سنة ١٨٦٥ شيّد الخوري يوحنّا جرجس بصبوص مدرسةً على اسم مار يوحنّا الحبيب في محلّة الضهر معاد، وجعل لها كنيسةً صغيرةً بعقدٍ مُصالب. أُوقفت المدرسة والكنيسة للرهبانيّة اللبنانيّة المارونيّة سنة ١٨٩٥ بُغية تحويلها لدير راهباتٍ مُحصّنات. قبلت الرهبانيّة الوقفيّة سنة ١٨٩٧ وصادق عليها البطريرك يوحنّا الحاج. سنة ١٩٠١ رقد الخوري يوحنّا بالربّ ودُفن في كنيسته. رُمّمت الكنيسة سنة ٢٠٠٣ ونُقل إليها مذبح دير مار يوسف القديم وهو من عمل الأخوين بصبوص من راشانا.

The Church of St. John the Apostle - Jrabta

The church was constructed in 1865 to serve as a chapel for St. John's School, which was established by Father Youhanna Gerges Basbous. The school was handed over to the Lebanese Maronite Order in 1895 and was transformed into a nunnery. The donation was accepted by the order in 1897, and the decision was authorized by Patriarch Youhanna el Hajj. In 1901, Father Basbous passed away and was buried in the chapel. The church underwent restoration in 2003, during which the magnificent marble altar of St. Joseph's Monastery, a masterpiece carved by the Basbous brothers, was installed.

كنيسة سيّدة النجاة - بكاسين

بُنيت الكنيسة سنة ١٨٥٥، بعقدٍ مصالب. تعرّضت للتخريب إبّان حوادث سنة ١٨٦٠، ورمّمت أواخر القرن العشرين. تحوي الكنيسة على لوحة سيّدة الحبل بلا دنس وهي من عمل غربيّ، كذلك لوحة مار يوسف ومجموعة زجاجيّات.

The church of Our Lady of Deliverance - Bkassine

The church was built in 1855, and consists of a single arched vault. The building was sabotaged during the war of 1860 and finally restored in the late XXth century. The church holds a European late XIXth century painting depicting the Immaculate conception. The modern painting of St Joseph and the stained glass windows are the work of the artist André Nammour.
