دير سيّدة ميفوق - ميفوق

هو من الأديار القديمة في الكنيسة المارونيَّة،
بناه المرَدَةَ سنة ٨٥٠. إستولى عليه الحماديُّون حوالي سنة ١١٢١، مدَّةً من الزمن، فانتقل رهبانُه في أثنائها إلى دير سيِّدة إيليج. تَسَلَّمت الرهبانيَّةُ اللبنانيّة المارونيّة ديرَ ميفوق سنة ١٧٦٦، من الأمير يوسف الشهابيّ. انعقد في هذا الدير، مجمعًا إقليميًّا للكنيسة المارونيَّة، برئاسة القاصد الرسولي الأب بطرس دي مورينا و المطران ميخائيل الخازن سنة ١٧٨٠. سنة ١٨٥٠، أمضى فيه مار شربل سنة ابتداءٍ واحدة. أنشأت الرهبانيَّة معهدًا في الدير، سنة ١٩٢٢. وَمِن محفوظات دير سيِّدة – ميفوق، صورة سيِّدة إيليج الأثريَّة التي أُعيد ترميمُها بين سنتَي ١٩٨٢ ١٩٨٧. لعب الدّير دورًا على صُعُد التنشئة الرهبانيّة والوطنيّة دورًا بارزًا.

The monastery of Our Lady of Mayfouq - Mayfouq

One of the oldest Maronite monasteries built arround 850 by the Maradites. It was taken over by the Hamadi’s in 1121, and back then the monks moved to Ilige. The monastery was given to the Lebanese Maronite Order in 1766 by Prince Youssef Shehab. In 1780 a local Maronite council was held in the monastery presided by the papal delegate Fr Peter di Morina and bishop Mikael el Khazen. In 1850 St Charbel spent a year of his novitiate there. A school was founded by the order in 1922. The monastery holds the famous icon of our Lady of Ilige restored between 1982 and 1987. The monastery played a great national role and it was a major school of formation for the monks.

كنيسة مار يوحنّا المعمدان الأثريّة - صليما

يعود بناء الكنيسة إلى سنة ١٦٥٨، فمع توافد الموارنة إلى البلدة شرعوا ببناء كنيسة. ساعدهم على بنائها الآباء الكبوشيّون الذين بدؤا رسالتهم في دير مار بطرس في البلدة وجلبوا لإعانة موارنة البلدة معونة ماديّة من الكاردينال ريوشوليو وزير الملك لويس الثالث عشر. سنة ١٦٨٤ كرّس المذبح البطريرك أسطفان الدويهيّ. البناء كناية عن عقدِ مُصالب، يتميّز ببابٍ فخمٍ قدّمه أمراء آل أبي اللمع. تعرضت الكنيسة للتخريب إبّان الحرب الأهليّة اللبنانيّة. ورمّمت في تسعينيّات القرن العشرين

St. John the Baptist Ancient Church - Salima

The construction of the church dates back to the year 1658 when the Maronites began to settle in the town and started building a church. The Capuchin fathers, who began their mission at the Monastery of St. Peter in the town, assisted them in its construction. They brought financial assistance from Cardinal Richelieu, the Minister of King Louis XIII, to support the Maronites of the town. In 1684, Patriarch Estephan Douaihy consecrated the altar. The building is in the shape of a crucifix and is distinguished by a magnificent door donated by the Al Abi Al Lamaa family. The church suffered damage during the Lebanese Civil War and was restored in the 1990s.

Saint George Church, Byblos, Lebanon

History: 

The church dates back to the Phoenician era with a high vault. The great frensh orientalist Ernest Renan retraced its history with its huge stone pillars. The church had a great Phoenician tympant with two snakes revolving around a globe. The huge stone was taken to the Louvre museum by Renan.
The final stage and most recent construction dates back to 1870 when the church was rededicated by bishop Yousef el Marid.

تعود الى العهد الفينيقي لأنها مبنيّة بعقد قصبة مرتفعة وكانت معبدًا وثنيًّا.
أشار إرنست رينان الى وجود اعمِدة أثريّة استُعملت في مداميك البناء. رُمّمت وزيد عليها مع تعاقب المراحل التاريخيّة.
رينان انتزع عتبة الكنيسة وأرسلها الى متحف اللوفر في باريس، وهي تحمل نقشًا من الرموز التي كانت شائعةً في الدين الفينيقي يمثّل كرةً تلتفُّ حولها حيّاتٌ مجتمعة الأذناب في أعلاها
رُمِّمت هذه الكنيسة عدَّة مرّات، وكُرِّست عام 1870 بيد المطران يوسف المريض. وصورة مار جرجس فيها هي بريشة الرسّام بولس شلافك
