دير مار عبدا - دير القمر سنة ١٨٤٩، تأسّس الدير على يد الأب نعمة الله البكفاوي والأب بطرس الغزيريّ، بهدف خدمة النفوس في منطقة دير القمر. سنة ١٨٩٥، على عهد الأب العام سابا دريان، اتمّ الاب المدبّر افرام حنين الديراني بناء الدير، وأنشأ مدرسة لأبناء الرهبانية. سنة ١٩٦٣، تمّ بناء مدرسة مار عبدا. سنة ٢٠٠١، تمّ إفتتاح فرع لجامعة سيّدة اللويزة في الدير مكان الثانويّة الرسميّة وفرع للجامعة اللبنانية. سنة ٢٠٠٥، تم ترميم الدير وإصلاح غرفه والصالون والاقبية ليستقبل الرهبان والحركات الرسولية. يتميّز الدير بهندسته الفريدة وهي مزيج من فنّ العمارة اللبنانيّة والحلبيّة. The monastery of St. Abda - Deir el Qamar The monastery was built in 1849, to provide pastoral and spiritual assistance in Deir el Qamar. In 1895 during the mandate of Abbot Saba Derian the monastery was completed and a monastic school was erected. In 1963 the school was renewed and opened to the public. In 2001 a branch of NDU and of the Lebanese University were opened next to the monastery. In 2005 the monastery was renewed. The building is a great late 19th century witness to Lebanese architecture with elements of Aleppo’s art and arabesque.

الكنيسة عبارة عن مغارة كانت مدفنًا لكهنة أدونيس وتحوي عدّة نواويس، وثلاث اعمدة تنضح الماء كانت قديمًا لنذور العواقر. وثّق المغارة العالم إرنست رينان والمفوّضيّة السّامية الفرنسيّة، لكنّ العديد من معالم المدفن خرّبت جرّاء البحث عن الطمائر. على الجدار الشرقيّ داخل الكنيسة كتابة منقوشة باللغة السريانيّة وهي مختلفة من حيث الاسلوب، لأنّها منقوشةٌ بشكلٍ عاموديٍّ وليس افقياً. وقد فسّر علماء الآثار هذه الظاهرة أنّه في القرن السابع للميلاد زمن الامويّين ذهبت بعثات نسطوريّة الى الصين. وهذا ما يفسّر الاسلوب العامودي في الكتابة الآراميّة المنقوشة، فهؤلاء تأثروا بالكتابة الصينيّة العاموديّة كالكتابات السريانيّة في شيان التي تعود للحقبة نفسها. رمّم المذبح سنة ١٨٩٥، والواجهة الأماميّة سنة ١٩٥٢.

The church of Sts Peter and Paul - Aqoura

The church was a funerary cave for the priests of Adonis, it holds many sarcophaguses and three columns that pour water. The cave was studied by Ernest Renan and the archeologists of the French high commissariat. The church holds a VIIth century Syriac calligraphy that is distinct since it was written vertically, which relates to the Nestorian monks who went to missions during the Umayyad era and reached China. There they were influenced by the mandarin calligraphy and began writing Syriac in this manner. The stella of Xian uses the same type of writing and dates back to that era. The church was plundered by tomb raiders, the high altar was restored in 1895, and the entrance in 1952.

كنيسة سيّدة الغابة - بيت شباب

بنُيت الكنيسة الأولى في القرن السابع عشر، واعتنى بإعادة بنائها آل الحايك مرّتين سنة ١٧٧٢ و١٧٧٣. خُرّبت أثناء حملة إبراهيم باشا فأعاد ترميمها الأمير حيدر أبي اللمع سنة ١٨٤٠. أخذت شكلها الحاليّ سنة ١٩٠٠ ورُمّمت سنة ١٩٩٠. في الكنيسة عدّة لوحات أهمّها اللوحة القديمة التي تعود للقرن السادس عشر، كان قد رسم فوقها كنعان ديب لوحة أخرى لم تعد موجودة سنة ١٨٣٩ وقد جرّحها فارسٌ درزيّ في أحداث ١٨٦٠، وقد نُقلت عنها لوحة لحبيب سرور تعود لسنة ١٩١٩.
The church of Our Lady of the Forest - Beit Chabeb

The church was first built in the XVIIth century, then rebuilt by the Hayek family in 1726 and 1773. It was damaged during the campaign of Mehmet Ali Pasha and restored by Prince Haidar Abi Ll Lamah in 1840. It took its final shape in year 1900, and then restored 90 years later. The church holds many paintings the most important ones being the old XVIth century icon of the Madona, that was covered by another painting by Kanaan Dib drawn in year 1839 that is no longer present. This painting was attacked by a Druze knight in the war of 1860. Habib Srour drew a copy of it in 1919.

بنى البطريرك بولس مسعد الدّير في النصف الثاني من القرن التاسع عشر، وجعله مركزًا بطريركيًّا له إبّان حبريته. استقدم للكنيسة تمثالين رخاميّين والأواني من روما، مع مجموعة من اللوحات الصغيرة. أمّا اللوحة الكبيرة فوق المذبح وسط الكنيسة، فهي من عمل داود القرم. بعد وفاته، دُفن البطريرك في الكنيسة، وأوقف الدّير لعائلة مسعد. تحوّل في فترةٍ من الزمن إلى مدرسة، والآن يخوض عمليّة ترميم لإبراز قيمته التاريخيّة.

The monastery of Sts Peter and Paul - Ashkout

The monastery was built in the second part of the XIXth century by patriarch Boulos Massaad, and he resided in it during his pontificate. The patriarch acquired for the church two roman marble statues of Sts Peter and Paul, and many paintings. The great painting over the high altar is by Dawoud El Qorm. After the death of the patriarch the monastery became in the possession of the Masaad family, it was converted into a school for a while and now it is undergoing a restoration plan to bring out the historical value of the place.
