كنيسة سيّدة شحلو - القبيّات كلمة شَحْلُو من السريانيّة تُشير إلى مجرى المياه. هذه المنطقة قديمًا شكلت المدخل الشماليّ للقبيّات، بنى فيها الأهالي معبدًا وثنيًّا ما لبث أن حوّلوه كنيسةً. دمّر المماليك في حملتهم الكنيسة ليبنوا برجًا للمراقبة. هذا البرج دمّره العثمانيّون بعد معركة مرج دابق سنة ١٥١٦. أواسط القرن العشرين أُعيد بناء الكنيسة بشكلها الحاليّ، مع برج ساعةٍ رُفع عليه تمثال للعذراء في تسعينيّات القرن الماضي. تُعتبر هذه الكنيسة مزارًا ومحجًّا للأهالي. The church of our Lady of Shahlo - Kobbayat The word Shahlo is from a syriac root referring to a water source. In ancient times the locals built a pagan temple on the site that was converted into the first church. This church was destroyed by the Mamluks who built a tower on the site that was destroyed by the ottomans after the battle of Marj Dabeq in 1516. In the mid XXth century a church was rebuilt in it’s current form, with a bell tower added in the ninties. The church is considered a votive shrine for the villagers.

كنيسة سيّدة الغابة - بيت شباب

بنُيت الكنيسة الأولى في القرن السابع عشر، واعتنى بإعادة بنائها آل الحايك مرّتين سنة ١٧٧٢ و١٧٧٣. خُرّبت أثناء حملة إبراهيم باشا فأعاد ترميمها الأمير حيدر أبي اللمع سنة ١٨٤٠. أخذت شكلها الحاليّ سنة ١٩٠٠ ورُمّمت سنة ١٩٩٠. في الكنيسة عدّة لوحات أهمّها اللوحة القديمة التي تعود للقرن السادس عشر، كان قد رسم فوقها كنعان ديب لوحة أخرى لم تعد موجودة سنة ١٨٣٩ وقد جرّحها فارسٌ درزيّ في أحداث ١٨٦٠، وقد نُقلت عنها لوحة لحبيب سرور تعود لسنة ١٩١٩.
The church of Our Lady of the Forest - Beit Chabeb

The church was first built in the XVIIth century, then rebuilt by the Hayek family in 1726 and 1773. It was damaged during the campaign of Mehmet Ali Pasha and restored by Prince Haidar Abi Ll Lamah in 1840. It took its final shape in year 1900, and then restored 90 years later. The church holds many paintings the most important ones being the old XVIth century icon of the Madona, that was covered by another painting by Kanaan Dib drawn in year 1839 that is no longer present. This painting was attacked by a Druze knight in the war of 1860. Habib Srour drew a copy of it in 1919.

كابيلّا الشهيدة أكويلينا - جبيل

القدّيسة أكويلينا شهيدة من مدينة جبيل استشهدت فيها بعمر اثنتي عشر سنة، سنة ٢٩٣. دُفِنَت ذخائرها خارج مدينة جبيل، في المزار المُشيَّد على اسمها والواقع على تلّة قصّوبا شرقيّ المدينة بحسب المستشرق ارنست رينان. رسم لوحتها سمعان سمعان المصوّر المعروف بسمعان سارة أواخر سنة ١٩٥٣ بسعي الأب أنطونيوس زغيب الذي نشر إكرام القدّيسة. الكابيلّا بنيت أيّام رئاسة الأب يوحنّا وهبه على أنطوش جبيل في سوق جبيل القديم، سنة ١٩٨٢. وهو مزارها في قلب المدينة ومحجًّا لطلب شفاعتها.

The Chapel of St Aquilina - Byblos

St Aquilina is a twelve year old martyr from Byblos who died in 293. Her relics were buried in a small shrine on the hill of Qassouba in the vicinity of the city according to the orientalist Ernest Renan. The painting is the work of Semaan Semaan also known as Semaan Sara dating back to 1953, commissioned by Fr Antonios Zgheib who promulgated the devotion to the saint. The chapel was built when Fr Youhanna Wehbe was the rector of Byblos’s presbytery in 1982. The chapel is a pilgrimage site to all those seeking the martyr’s intercession.

كنيسة سيّدة الشير - إهمج

كنيسة سيدة الشير الرعائيّة العجائبيّة، دُعيت بهذا الإسم نسبةً إلى المكان الذي أقيمت عليه وهو شير صخريّ يبلغ ارتفاعه حوالي خمسين مترًا. تعود الكنيسة الأولى إلى العصور الوسطى، وخُرّبت وأعيد بناؤها سنة ١٦٧٦، بعد عودة الأهالي إلى القرية. بدأ العمل في بناء الكنيسة بشكلها الحاليّ سنة ١٩٠٠ وتمّ إنجازها في العام ١٩٢٠. وهي تشتهر بعجائبها الكثيرة.

The church of Our Lady of the cliff - Ehmej

The parish church of our Lady was named after a 50 meter limestone cliff above which it stands. The first medieval church was sabotaged and rebuilt in 1676 after the Maronites' return to the village. In 1900 the church took its current form and was completed in 1920. The church is a pilgrimage site famous for the miracles that happened there.
