History: 

Built in 1660, the church played a great role in the history of the village, near it a school was built, and it was the main parish church before that of our Lady was built in the nineteenth century.
The church houses a collection of oil paintings dating back to the construction era: St George, an Immaculata, St Mamas, St Peter.
In the church’s sacristy are found the mortal remains of Fr. Gerges Srour 1688-1735, a holy priest with the title Al Qurbany, (the Eucharistic) because of his great devotion to the blessed sacrament and the great miracles that happened during elevation time in his Mass as attested by witnesses.


يعود البناء الى سنة ١٦٦٠. لعبت هذه الكنيسة دورًا هامًا في تاريخ البلدة اذ كانت الكنيسة الرعائية قبل بناء كنيسة السيذة. بقربها كانت تقوم مدرسة للأحداث. تحوي زيتيات تعود لفترة البناء: مار جرجس، السيدة، مار ماما، مار بطرس.
يرقد على رجاء القيامة في سكرستية الكنيسة رجل الله الخوري جرجس سرور ١٦٨٨-١٧٣٥، والمعروف بكراماته وعجائبه وعبادته للقربان الأقدس إذ كان وجه المسيح يظهر على القربانة عند الرفعة كما شهد معاصروه.

كنيسة سيّدة الدرّ - بشرّي
سيدة الدرّ أو الوريسة كان معبدًا فينيقيًّا تحوّل الى كنيسة في القرن الحادي عشر. بحسب الأب بطرس ضو "تحوّل هذا المعبد الى كنيسة، وكان يوجد فيه رسوم جدرانيّة من القرن الثاني عشر وتحتوي على أسماء القدّيسين باليونانيّة، مما يدلّ على أن الموارنة في وادي قاديشا كانوا حتى القرن الثالث عشر على اتصال بالحضارة البيزنطيّة". الكنيسة عبارة عن مغارة محفورة في الصخر ذات خوروسين، لعلّ جداريتها الأجمل هي الظهور الإلهيّ.

The church of Our Lady of the Milk - Bcharre

The church of Our Lady of the Milk or El Waryse is a Phoenician temple converted in the XIth century. According to the historian Fr. Boutros Daw: ”The shrine was converted into a fresco covered church in the XIIth century with the saints name written in greek, indicating that the Maronites in that era kept contact with the Byzantines”. The church consists of a man made cave with a double apse. The best kept fresco is that of the Epiphany over the altar.

Sacré Coeur Church, Qornet El Hamra, Lebanon

كنيسة قلب يسوع - قرنة الحمرا

بُنيت الكنيسة سنة ١٩٠٠ على طرازٍ هندسيّ بازيليكيّ بسوقٍ وحنية واحدة، هندسها الرهبان اليسوعيّون. عمل على زخرفتها ونقشها الياس فاعور من المصيطبة ورسم جداريّاتها يوسف الحويّك. سنة ١٩٢٠ إستُقدم لها المذبح الرخاميّ. زيدت القبّة في الثلاثينات. رُمّمت الكنيسة مؤخرًا وزُيّنت بالزجاجيّات.

Thé church of the Sacred Heart - Qornet el Hamra

The church was built in 1900. The architectural plan was a single naved basilica, the design was made by the Jesuits. The church was decorated by Elias Faour, the frescoes where painted by Youssef el Howeyk. In 1920 a marble high altar was set inside the church. In the 1930’s the bell tower was added. The church was recently restored and the stained glass windows where added.
