كنيسة مار الياس القديمة - المجيدلبْنيت سنة ١٨٠٤، وجُدّدت سنة ١٨٩٩ وسنة ١٩٩٩. البناء كناية عن عقدِ مْصالبِ ينتهي بحنية. تضمّ الكنيسة ثلاث لوحات: مار الياس ومار جرجس والعائلة المقدّسة من عمل خليل عقل تعود لأوائل القرن العشرين.The old church of St Elijah - El MjeidelThe church was built in 1804, and renewed in 1899 and 1999. في القرن السادس عشر زار البطريرك ارزيفيان روما والتقى البابا بنديكتوس الرابع عشر، وأهداه أحد الكرادلة لوحة لسيّدة الآلام، منسوبة لمدرسة رافاييل تعود لرافاييل سانزيو أو الى غيراريو بار بيري. في رحلة العودة تعرّضت السفينة لخطر الغرق فرُميت اللوحة في البحر ووُجدت تطفو على المياه بشكلٍ عجائبيّ. بعد هذه الحادثة وُضعت اللوحة في كنيسة الدّير فوق العرش البطريركيّ. عام ١٨٠٢ ضربت الصاعقة الكنيسة، وسقطت على العرش البطريركيّ حيث كانت صورة العذراء، من دون الحاق الضرر بالعرش، ولا باللوحة، فبُنيت على إثر المعجزة كابيلا صغيرة ملاصقة للدّير وهي مزار للمؤمنين طالبين نِعم سيّدة الآلام. زارها قداسة البابا بنديكتوس السادس عشر سنة ٢٠١٢.
The chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows - Bzommar
In the XVIth century, the Armenian Patriarch Arzivian visited Rome and met pope Benedict XIV. He was gifted an icon of our Lady of Sorrows from an Italian cardinal. The painting is from Raphael’s school and is attributed to Raphael Sanzio or Gerario Parperi. On the way back the ship was in danger of shipwreck, and the painting was thrown in the sea with other furniture. It was rediscovered miraculously floating several days later. After the incident it was put over the patriarchal chair in the main church of Bzommar. In 1802 a lighting bolt hit the throne and the painting fell down, yet even the glass that was on it was miraculously preserved. A chapel adjacent to the monastery was erected to enshrine the miraculous icon. The chapel was visited by pope Benedict XVI in 2012.
دير مار عبدا - دير القمر
سنة ١٨٤٩، تأسّس الدير على يد الأب نعمة الله البكفاوي والأب بطرس الغزيريّ، بهدف خدمة النفوس في منطقة دير القمر. سنة ١٨٩٥، على عهد الأب العام سابا دريان، اتمّ الاب المدبّر افرام حنين الديراني بناء الدير، وأنشأ مدرسة لأبناء الرهبانية. سنة ١٩٦٣، تمّ بناء مدرسة مار عبدا. سنة ٢٠٠١، تمّ إفتتاح فرع لجامعة سيّدة اللويزة في الدير مكان الثانويّة الرسميّة وفرع للجامعة اللبنانية. سنة ٢٠٠٥، تم ترميم الدير وإصلاح غرفه والصالون والاقبية ليستقبل الرهبان والحركات الرسولية. يتميّز الدير بهندسته الفريدة وهي مزيج من فنّ العمارة اللبنانيّة والحلبيّة.
The monastery of St. Abda - Deir el Qamar
The monastery was built in 1849, to provide pastoral and spiritual assistance in Deir el Qamar. In 1895 during the mandate of Abbot Saba Derian the monastery was completed and a monastic school was erected. In 1963 the school was renewed and opened to the public. In 2001 a branch of NDU and of the Lebanese University were opened next to the monastery. In 2005 the monastery was renewed. The building is a great late 19th century witness to Lebanese architecture with elements of Aleppo’s art and arabesque.
الكنيسة قديمة العهد وتاريخ بنائها مجهول. في الكنيسة العديد من الحجار المقصوبة المأخوذة من قلعة سمار جبيل القريبة. البناء كناية عن عقد سريريّ ينتهي بحنية نصف دائريّة. تضمّ الكنيسة لوحتين من القرن التاسع عشر: الأولى للعذراء من عمل كنعان ديب والثانية لمار جرجس من عمل المستشرق البولونيّ بول شلافاك.
The church of Our Lady - Mrah El Zayat
The church is an old structure with an unknown history. The structure is a crib vault ending with a semi circular apse, with many spolias from the nearby Smar Jbeil castle. The church holds two XIXth century paintings: the Madonna by Kanaan Dib and St George by the polish orientalist Paul Shlavat.
