El Qattara Mayfouk – The Monastery of St Challita

History: 

Built in 1660, the church played a great role in the history of the village, near it a school was built, and it was the main parish church before that of our Lady was built in the nineteenth century.
The church houses a collection of oil paintings dating back to the construction era: St George, an Immaculata, St Mamas, St Peter.
In the church’s sacristy are found the mortal remains of Fr. Gerges Srour 1688-1735, a holy priest with the title Al Qurbany, (the Eucharistic) because of his great devotion to the blessed sacrament and the great miracles that happened during elevation time in his Mass as attested by witnesses.


يعود البناء الى سنة ١٦٦٠. لعبت هذه الكنيسة دورًا هامًا في تاريخ البلدة اذ كانت الكنيسة الرعائية قبل بناء كنيسة السيذة. بقربها كانت تقوم مدرسة للأحداث. تحوي زيتيات تعود لفترة البناء: مار جرجس، السيدة، مار ماما، مار بطرس.
يرقد على رجاء القيامة في سكرستية الكنيسة رجل الله الخوري جرجس سرور ١٦٨٨-١٧٣٥، والمعروف بكراماته وعجائبه وعبادته للقربان الأقدس إذ كان وجه المسيح يظهر على القربانة عند الرفعة كما شهد معاصروه.

دير سيّدة المرج (دير القلاية) - لحفد

بُني الدّير أوساط القرن الثاني عشر ليسكن فيه أسقف معاون للبطريرك يوحنّا اللحفديّ. أوائل القرن الخامس عشر سكنه المطران يعقوب. خرب هذا الدير ولم يبقَ منه سوى الكنيسة التي تجدّد بناؤها أوساط القرن التاسع عشر. الكنيسة كناية عن عقدٍ مُصالب بحنية مكوّرة. تحوي الكنيسة على العديد من الحجارة المنقوشة والمُشفّرة من بنائها القديم. في هذه الكنيسة تعمّد الأخ اسطفان نعمة اللحفدي.

The Monastery of Our Lady of Marj (Deir al Qalaya) - Lehfed

The monastery was built in the mid XIIth century for an assistant bishop to Patriarch Youhanna al Lehfidi to live in. In the early XVth century, it was inhabited by Bishop Yaacoub. The monastery was abandoned and only the church remained, which was rebuilt in the mid XIXth century. The church's structure consists of a crossed vault with a hemispherical apse. The church contains many carved and encrypted stones from its old construction. Brother Estephan Nehme was baptized in this church.

دير سيّدة البشارة بقلوش - ساحل علما

يَعود إنشاء الدّير الى العام ١٧٨٠، يوم أوقَفَ الشَيخ ميلان ضِرغام الخازن، كُلَّ ما يَملُكَه لإنشاء دير تمّ بناؤه سنة ١٧٨٣. إتَخَذَه المُطران أنطون الخازن، مقراً لأبرَشيَّة بَعلبك. عام ١٨١٨، خُصِّصَ الدّير للراهِبات المُحَصَّنات، من جُملة الأديرة السِتّة التي خُصِّصَت للنِساء، ضِمن مُقَرَّرات مَجمَع اللويزة. وبَعدَ إنحِسار الدَعَوات النِسائية، هُجِرَ الدّير، وتَداعَت أبنيته، ولم يَبقَ مِنه إلا كَنيسته المَعقودة، التي ما زالت قائمة لتاريخه. تحوي الكنيسة لوحة صفدٍ مقدسيّة وبعض الأيقونات المحلية ولوحة البشارة، مع صلبوت (مجسّم للمصلوب) لرتبة السجدة. تضمّ الكنيسة مدفن المثلث الرحمات المطران أنطون نوفل حصن الخازن.

The Monastery of the Annunciation Baqloush - Sahel Alma

The construction of the monastery began in 1780 when Sheikh Milan Dergham el Khazen gave his possessions to build a monastery that was completed in 1783. Bishop Antoun el Khazen made it the episcopal residence of the bishops of Baalbeck. In 1818 the monastery was made one of the six nunneries for the contemplative maronite nuns by decree of the council of Louaizeh. The monastery fell into ruins after the nuns left, and only the church remained. The vaulted church holds a mother of peral inlayed icon with an agonizing crucifix, local icons and the painting of the Annunciation. The church also holds the sarcophagus of bishop Antoun Naufal el Khazen.
