بُنيت الكنيسة سنة ١٨١٢ وكرّسها المطران الياس محاسب سنة ١٨٤١. بُنيت القبّة بسعي المغتربين سنة ١٩١٠. لوحة العذراء التي تعلو المذبح منقولة عن مادونا سيستينا لرافايل. في الكنيسة العديد من الأيقونات والسقف مكسو بالجداريات من عمل أ. روكز سنة ٢٠١٢.

The church was built in 1812, and consecrated by Bishop Elias Mhaseb in 1841. The Campanile was built in 1910 with the donations of the village’s diaspora. The painting of the Madona over the high altar is a copy of the Madona Sistina of Raphael. The church is rich in icons, and the vault is covered in frescoes painted by I. Roukos in 2012.

كنيسة مار فوقا – أميون
كنيسة مار فوقا كنيسة أرثوذكسيّة تعود الى العهد الصليبيّ. شُيِّدت فوق معبد وثنيّ فوقه كنيسة بيزنطيّة تعود الى القرن السابع. الكنيسة بازيليكيّة، بثلاثة أروقة. تحوي الكنيسة جداريّات بيزنطيّة، تُمَثِّل السيد المسيح والعذراء مريم والرُسُل والقدّيسين، منهم مار فوقا ومار سمعان. دُفن في هذه الكنيسة قائد الجيش البيزنطيّ موريق، الذي أرسله الامبراطور يوستينيانوس لِقَمع تَمَرُّد الموارنة، وقتل في المواجهة التي حدثت في أميون بين الفريقين سنة ٦٩٤.

The church of St Focas - Amioun

The church of St Focas is a Greek Orthodox church built during the times of the Crusades, over a VIIth century Byzantine church built over a Roman temple. The church is basilical with three naves. It is decorated with medieval frescoes depicting Christ, the Theotokos, Apostles and other saints. In this church is buried the Byzantine commander Moricius sent by emperor Justinian to quell the Maronite’s revolt in 694, and died in the battle of Amioun.

كنيسة سيّدة الدرّ - بشرّي
سيدة الدرّ أو الوريسة كان معبدًا فينيقيًّا تحوّل الى كنيسة في القرن الحادي عشر. بحسب الأب بطرس ضو "تحوّل هذا المعبد الى كنيسة، وكان يوجد فيه رسوم جدرانيّة من القرن الثاني عشر وتحتوي على أسماء القدّيسين باليونانيّة، مما يدلّ على أن الموارنة في وادي قاديشا كانوا حتى القرن الثالث عشر على اتصال بالحضارة البيزنطيّة". الكنيسة عبارة عن مغارة محفورة في الصخر ذات خوروسين، لعلّ جداريتها الأجمل هي الظهور الإلهيّ.

The church of Our Lady of the Milk - Bcharre

The church of Our Lady of the Milk or El Waryse is a Phoenician temple converted in the XIth century. According to the historian Fr. Boutros Daw: ”The shrine was converted into a fresco covered church in the XIIth century with the saints name written in greek, indicating that the Maronites in that era kept contact with the Byzantines”. The church consists of a man made cave with a double apse. The best kept fresco is that of the Epiphany over the altar.
