كنيسة مار شينا - حردين أواسط القرن التاسع عشر أصبح أهالي حردين بحاجةٍ لكنيسةٍ رعائيّةٍ كبيرةٍ، فجاء بناء كنيسة مار شينا بعقدٍ مُصالب سنة ١٨٤٤. ومار شينا هو لقبٌ سريانيّ لأبراميوس الأنطاكي الذي كان لصًّا متنكرًا بزيّ راهبٍ أراد سرقة ديرٍ للراهبات فحدثت معجزة شفاءٍ غيّرت حياته من لصِّ إلى ناسك. هذه المعجزة خلدتها لوحة الكنيسة وهي من عمل الحبيس ليشع الحرديني شقيق القديس نعمة الله. رُمّمت الكنيسة سنة ١٩٩٨ بعد إعلان تطويب مار نعمة الله، وهي الكنيسة التي شهدت على طفولته وخدم مذبحها. The Church of St. Chaina - Hardine During the mid-19th century, the villagers of Hardin felt the need for a parish church. The construction of a magnificent cross-vaulted structure was completed in 1844. The church was dedicated to St. Chaina, a 4th-century thief named Abramius of Antioch, who, after attempting to raid a nunnery disguised as a monk, witnessed a miracle that led to his conversion. This miracle is depicted in a painting hanging in the church's apse, which was created by the hermit Fr. Lichaa el Hardini, the brother of St. Nematullah. The church was restored in 1998 following the beatification of Fr. Nematullah, who had been a child and an altar boy in this very church.

دير الصليب يعود للقرون الوسطى، هو دير عاصٍ فيه كنيسة بخورسين. في الحنيتين جداريّات بيزنطيّة بكتابة سريانيّة تمثّل في إحداها الرسل والأخرى البشارة. على الجدار الشماليّ جداريّة الصلب وتشبه الى حدٍّ كبير منمنمة رابولا وتنتمي للمدرسة السريانيّة. وضع الجداريّات مذرٍ بفعل مرور الزمن والتخريب. في سفح الجبل قرب الدّير محبستين، الأولى لمار بسكوان وهو شفيع الإستعداد للموت عند أهالي حدشيت، والأخرى لمار سلوان.

The Monastery of the Holy Cross and the hermitages of Sts Beskwan and Silwan - The valley of Houlat Hadsheet

The monastery of the Holy Cross is a medieval monastery in the Holy Valley. The main church is a double apse structure decorated by byzantine frescoes with Syriac inscriptions depicting on one apse the apostles and on the other the Annunciation. On the northern wall there is a fresco of the crucifixion from the Syriac school of iconography, most probably a reproduction of Rabbula’s miniatures. The frescoes are in dire condition due to time and sabotage. In the cliff of the mountain near the monastery stand two hermitages: St Beskwan the patron of the preparation for death to the people of Hadsheet and St Silwan the athonite.

سنة ١٩٦١ أَذَن رئيس المجمع الشرقيّ الكاردينال تيسيران أن تنتقل ثلاث راهبات إسبانيّات كرمليّات من طقسهنّ اللاتينيّ الى الطقس البيزنطيّ بغية تأسيس دير كرمليّ مشرقيّ هدفه الصلاة لأجل وحدة الكنيسة. وقد شاءت العناية الإلهيّة أن تكون الراهبات من الأديار التي أسّستها تريزيا الأفيليّة بداية الإصلاح. إفتُتح الدّير في ٢٤ آب سنة ١٩٦٢. زاره البابوان يوحنّا بولس الثاني وبندكتوس السادس عشر إبّان زيارتيهما الرسوليّة الى لبنان. كنيسة الدّير بيزنطيّة الطابع مع فبّة، تتميّز كونها مغطاة بالجداريّات، وإيقونوستاز خشبيّ، وشعريّة الحصن للراهبات.

The Monastery of the Theotokos and the unity - Harissa

In 1961 his eminence Cardinal Tisserant agreed that three nuns join the Byzantine rite to create an oriental Carmelite nunnery with the aim of prayer to the unity of the church. The divine wisdom made the three nuns come from the original monasteries founded by St Theresa of Avila. The monastery was inaugurated on the 24 of august 1962. Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI visited the monastery upon their visit to Lebanon. The monastery’s church is of Byzantine style with a dome and a wooden iconostatis, it is fully covered with frescoes and has a distinctive seperator to demark the cloister of the nuns.

Built in 1660, the church played a great role in the history of the village, near it a school was built, and it was the main parish church before that of our Lady was built in the nineteenth century.
The church houses a collection of oil paintings dating back to the construction era: St George, an Immaculata, St Mamas, St Peter.
In the church’s sacristy are found the mortal remains of Fr. Gerges Srour 1688-1735, a holy priest with the title Al Qurbany, (the Eucharistic) because of his great devotion to the blessed sacrament and the great miracles that happened during elevation time in his Mass as attested by witnesses.


يعود البناء الى سنة ١٦٦٠. لعبت هذه الكنيسة دورًا هامًا في تاريخ البلدة اذ كانت الكنيسة الرعائية قبل بناء كنيسة السيذة. بقربها كانت تقوم مدرسة للأحداث. تحوي زيتيات تعود لفترة البناء: مار جرجس، السيدة، مار ماما، مار بطرس.
يرقد على رجاء القيامة في سكرستية الكنيسة رجل الله الخوري جرجس سرور ١٦٨٨-١٧٣٥، والمعروف بكراماته وعجائبه وعبادته للقربان الأقدس إذ كان وجه المسيح يظهر على القربانة عند الرفعة كما شهد معاصروه.
