كنيسة مار يوسف - دير الأحمر بُنيت الكنيسة سنة ١٩١٤ بعناية ملحم القزح. هي كنيسة رعائيّة مسقوفة. رمّمت أوائل القرن الحاليّ. مذابح الكنيسة الثلاث الرخاميّة وأيقونة مار يوسف محليّة الصنع. أضيفت للكنيسة قبتها أواسط القرن العشرين. The church of St Joseph - Deir el Ahmar The church is a parochial church built by Melhem Qozah in 1914. The structure consists of a crib vault that was restored in the beginning of this century. The church holds three marble altars and St Joseph’s icon that are locally made. The bell tower was added in the mid XXth century.

بُنيت كاتدرائية مار أسطفان على أنقاض كنيسةٍ أقدم عهدًا سنة ١٩١٠، يوم كانت المدينة في أوجّ نموّها. تتميّز الكاتدرائيّة أنّها تجمع الطراز النيوكلاسيكيّ والنيوبيزطيّ. مبنيّة على نمطٍ بازيليكيّ بثلاث أسواقٍ تنتهي بثلاث حنايا وفيها ثلاث مذابح. تحوي الكنيسة كرسيّ الأسقف، لوحة غربيّة الصنع لمار أسطفان، بيما للوعظ، وجرن للعماد ذات قبّة. واجهتها الغربيّة تطلّ على المرفأ وتتميّز بقبابها التي يتوسطها تمثال مار اسطفان.

St Stephen’s cathedral - Batroun

The cathedral was built over an older church in 1910, during the city’s economical peak. The chuch combines neoclassical and neo Byzantine styles, according to a basilical plan with three naves and three semi circular apses with altars. The cathedral holds the episcopal chair, a western painting of St Stephen, a pulpit, and a western style domed baptisimal font. The western facade of the church overlooks the city’s port, with two domes ans St Stephen’s statue between them.

كنيسة السيّدة الجديدة - صربا الجنوب

بُنيت الكنيسة سنة ١٩٤٦ وكرّسها المطران أغوسطينوس البستاني. بناؤها بازيليكيّ الطراز بثلاث أسواقٍ وحنية نصف دائريّة. رُمّمت الكنيسة بعد زلزال سنة ١٩٥٦، وأُضيفت إليها قبّة الجرس. تضمّ الكنيسة أيقونةً أورشليميّة عجائبيّة للسيّدة العذراء وهي التي حمت الأهالي خلال الحرب العالميّة الأولى.

The new Church of Our Lady - Sarba, South Lebanon.

The church was constructed in 1946 and consecrated by Archbishop Augustine el-Boustany. This basilical church features three naves and a semi-circular apse. Following the earthquake of 1956, the structure underwent restoration, and a bell tower was subsequently added to the church. Notably, the church houses an icon of the Theotokos from the school of Jerusalem, which is believed to possess miraculous properties. According to the local community, this icon protected the village during World War I, serving as a source of divine intervention and safeguarding.

كنيسةٌ صغيرةٌ مبنيّةٌ على ضفاف مجرى نهر الجوز، تابعةّ لدير كفتون. بُنيت في القرن العاشر وبقيت مُهمَلةً لقرون، مُهدَّدةً بالانهيار. بدأت عمليّة الترميم سنة ٢٠٠٤ واكتُشفت خلالها جداريّات فريدة من القرن الثاني عشر، وهي الشفاعة والبشارة والرسل وأربعة فرسان قدّيسين: سركيس وباخوس جرجس وتاودوروس. الفريد في الكنيسة الكتابة على الجداريّات باللغات: السريانيّة واليونانيّة والعربيّة للمرّة الأولى في كنيسة مسيحيّة من القرون الوسطى.

A small church on the riverbank. It is a dependency of Kaftoun’s monastery. The church was built in the Xth century, yet it was in ruins for a long time. Restorations started in 2004 and uncovered unique byzantine frescoes: The Deisis, the Annunciation, the Apostles, and the Four Knights: Sts George, Sergius, Bacchus, Theodore. The fact that makes the frescoes unique is the trilingual writing on them: Syriac, Greek and for the first time in a medieval church Arabic.
