كنيسة مار زخيا القديمة - عجلتون بُنيت الكنيسة الأولى سنة ١٦٧٢، وكرّسها البطريرك إسطفان الدويهيّ. سنة ١٨٢٨ كانت الكنيسة أصبحت ضيّقة، فأُخذت جحارتها، بالإضافة إلى حجارة كنيسةٍ قديمةٍ مهجورةٍ على اسم مار عبدا، كانت تخصّ آل الشمالي قبل نزوحهم إلى بلدة سهيلة. كان البناء بسعي الخوري نقولا صفير. الكنيسة كناية عن عقدٍ مُصالب ينتهي بحنية. تضمّ أربعة مذابح: مار زخيا، السيّدة، القلب الأقدس، مار يوسف. الكنيسة تحافظ على طابعها الأصليّ بنقوشها وزخرفتها الملوّنة والأشكال الهندسيّة على الجدران والأسقف. The church of St Zakhia (St Nicolas) - Ajaltoun The first church was built in 1672, and dedicated by Patriarch Estefan el Douwaihy. In 1828 the church became too small for the increasing number of villagers. With the help of Fr Nkoula Sfeir, two old churches were dismantled: the old St Zakhia and an old ruined chapel dedicated to St Abda that belonged to the Chemaly family that moved to Shaileh. The stones were used to build the new church. The structure is a crossed vault, with four altars: St Zakhia, the Madonna, the Sacred Heart, and St Joseph. The church still conserves its original decorum with colored floral motifs and arabesques.

عود تأسيس الدّير الى القرن السادس، كُتِب عنه في منشورات تعود الى القرن التاسع موجودة في مكتبة أوكسفورد. تمَّ بناؤه على عِدَّة مراحل أمّا ترميمه الأخير فيعود الى العام 1910. الوجهة الخلفية للدير ملاصقة لشيرٍ صخريٍّ ضخم، وكنيسته في قلب الشير.
كان الدير بدايةً ديرًا مارونيًّا سكنه المطران (البطريرك لاحقًا) إرميا الدملصاوي. بعد حملات المماليك تنسّك فيه الرهبان الأرثوذكس. كانت أوجّ الحياة الرهبانيّة فيه عام ١٩٠٤. وفي بداية السبعينات أضحى مهجوراً ونُهبت كافة الأيقونات والمخطوطات. تجدّدت الحياة الرهبانيّة في الدّير سنة ١٩٧٧. عام ١٩٩٧ أُعيدت إليه أيقونة سيّدة كفتون العجائبيّة. تكمن أهميّة هذه الأيقونة أنّها مرسومةٌ على الوجهتين: الأولى تعود الى القرن الحادي عشر وتُمثِّل العذراء مريم والسيّد المسيح، والثانية تعود الى القرن الثالث عشر وتُمثِّل معموديّة السيّد المسيح ومدوَّنٌ عليها باللغات الثلاث: السريانيّة والعربيّة واليونانيّة، شهادةً عريقةً للطقس السريانيّ الملكيّ. يضُمّ الدير آثارًا تاريخيّةً قديمة كأجران منحوتة بالصخر وآبار ومطحنة ومعصرة قديمة تعود للقرن السادس.

The monastery was founded in the VIth century and many documents from the IXth century attesting its existence are still present in the Library of Oxford. The building was done over time up until 1910. The monastery is built inside a rocky cliff, with the main church inside the cave. At first the monastery was served by the Maronites and was the seat of Bishop (later patriarch) Jeremiah of Dmalsa. After the Mamluk’s raids the ownership was taken by the Orthodox hermits. The monastic life saw its peak in 1904 yet it declined up to the seventies when the monastery was deserted and looted. The monastic life would be renewed in 1977. In 1997 the miraculous icon of Our Lady of Kaftoun was returned. The importance of that icon reside in its being a double sided icon: on the first side dating back to the XIth century is a depiction of the Theotokos, on the other one dating back to the XIIIth century is a Theophany with inscriptions in Arabic Greek and Syriac, a true witness to the Syriac Melkite Rite.

كنيسة مار الياس - حملايا

سنة ١٩٠٤ قُسِّمت كنيسة مار جرجس بين آل الراعي وآل الريّس. فقرّر يوسف الريّس البقاء مع أخواله في الكنيسة القديمة، لكنّه عاد سنة ١٩٠٦ وقرّر إنشاء كنيسة جديدة لمار جرجس مع عددٍ من عائلات البلدة. بقيت هذه الكنيسة مًقفلة حتّى ستينيّات القرن العشرين حين أّعيد افتتاحها وتكريسها على إسم مار الياس. الكنيسة مسقوفة وتحوي ثلاث حنايا. تضمّ الكنيسة ساعة طنّانة، وتحوي لوحةُ من عمل حبيب سرور.

The church of St Elijah - Hemlaya

In 1904 the old St George’s church was divided between the Rahi and the Rayess families. Back then Youssef El Rayess decided to stay with his uncles, yet in 1906 he decided to build a new church dedicated to St George with a number of the village’s families. This church remained closed until the sixties when it was rededicated to St Elijah. The church is a roofed structure with three apses, it holds a clocktower and contains a painting of St Elijah by Habib Srour.

كنيسة سيّدة الإنتقال القديمة - بقاع كفرا

الكنيسة القديمة يعود تأسيسها إلى نحو سبعمئة عام، تتميّز بالصليب المثلث الأطراف الموجود على عتبة بابها الرئيسيّ، وأيقونة السيّدة التي تعود للقرن السادس عشر، وجرن العماد القديم حيث قبل مار شربل سرّه الأوّل. لم يتوقف اهل هذه البلدة يومًا عن صلاة الفرض الإلهيّ حتى خلال فصل الشتاء القارس، اذ بنوا دهليزًا تحت الارض يصل البيوت بالكنيسة، ولكنّ معظمه قد سقط.
سنة ١٩٢٥ دُعِّم العقد القديم ليتحمّل الكنيسة الجديدة فوقه.

The old church of Our Lady of Assumption - Bekaa Kafra

The old church was built in the XIVth century, it holds a medieval three branched cross on her tympanum. The church also holds the baptismal font of St Charbel, a XVIth century icon of the Madona and ruined catacombs that the local used to get to church during harsh winters to pray the office.
In 1925 the new church was built on top of the old one. To accommodate this renewal the old vault was reinforced changing the medieval allure of the old church.
