كانت قمّة الشرفة تخصّ مشايخ آل خازن. وقد باعوها عام ١٧٥٤ إلى القس يوسف مارون الطرابلسي بشرط أن يبني مدرسة. بعد إنتخابه بطريركًا سريانيًّا في ماردين وهربه من الإضهاد إثر إعلانه الشركة مع الكنيسة الكاثوليكيّة، إشترى البطريرك إغناطيوس جروة دير الشرفة عام ١٧٨٦ وجعله كرسيًّا له ونقل إليه أيقونة سيّدة النجاة المقدسيّة التي رافقته في ترحاله. يُعدّ هذا الدير المقر البطريركيّ للسريان الكاثوليك، كما ويضمّ مدرسة لتعليم الأولاد وإكليريكيّة.The hill of Sharfe was a property of the Khazen feudal lords. In 1754 the parcel of land was sold to the monk Joseph Maroun from Tripoli to build a school. After he was elected Syriac patriarch in Mardin, Mor Ignatius Jarwe proclaimed communion with the Roman Catholic Church. For this, he was then persecuted and obliged to leave his homeland. He finally settled in Charfe and bought the old school transforming it into a patriarcal seat bringing in an icon of Our Lady of Deliverance from Jerusalem. Since then the monastery became a patriarcal seat with a school and a seminary.

كنيسة سيّدة الغابة - بيت شباب

بنُيت الكنيسة الأولى في القرن السابع عشر، واعتنى بإعادة بنائها آل الحايك مرّتين سنة ١٧٧٢ و١٧٧٣. خُرّبت أثناء حملة إبراهيم باشا فأعاد ترميمها الأمير حيدر أبي اللمع سنة ١٨٤٠. أخذت شكلها الحاليّ سنة ١٩٠٠ ورُمّمت سنة ١٩٩٠. في الكنيسة عدّة لوحات أهمّها اللوحة القديمة التي تعود للقرن السادس عشر، كان قد رسم فوقها كنعان ديب لوحة أخرى لم تعد موجودة سنة ١٨٣٩ وقد جرّحها فارسٌ درزيّ في أحداث ١٨٦٠، وقد نُقلت عنها لوحة لحبيب سرور تعود لسنة ١٩١٩.
The church of Our Lady of the Forest - Beit Chabeb

The church was first built in the XVIIth century, then rebuilt by the Hayek family in 1726 and 1773. It was damaged during the campaign of Mehmet Ali Pasha and restored by Prince Haidar Abi Ll Lamah in 1840. It took its final shape in year 1900, and then restored 90 years later. The church holds many paintings the most important ones being the old XVIth century icon of the Madona, that was covered by another painting by Kanaan Dib drawn in year 1839 that is no longer present. This painting was attacked by a Druze knight in the war of 1860. Habib Srour drew a copy of it in 1919.

سنة ١٨٠٩ في عهد الأب العام سمعان الخازن، أوقف أهالي بلدَتي بان وكفرصعاب عقارات للرهبانيّة اللبنانيّة المارونيّة بغية إنشاء مدرسة لتعليم أبناء البلدة. تحوّلت في ستينيّات القرن العشرين الى ديرِ قانونيّ. تحوي الكنيسة بيت قربان خشبيّ مذهّب ومذخّرين رومانيّين، ثلاث لوحات غربيّة الصنع، ولوحتين مشرقيّتين للعائلة المقدّسة ومار أفرام من القرن التاسع عشر.

The monastery of St Joseph - Ban

In 1809 during the mandate of Abbot Simon el Khazen, the villagers of Ban and Kfarsghab donated land to the Lebanese Maronite Order to build a school. During the sixties the school was converted into a canonical monastery. The church holds a gilded wooden tabernacle with two reliquaries, three western paintings, and two local XIXth century ones of The holy family and St Ephrem.

كنيسة مار يوسف - بتدين اللقش

بنيت الكنيسة الأولى أوائل القرن التاسع عشر وكانت صغيرةً تعرضت للتخريب بعد حوادث سنة ١٨٦٠. سنة ١٨٧٠ بُنيت الكنيسة الحاليّة بشكل عقدٍ مُصالبٍ. تضمّ الكنيسة لوحتين الأولى للعائلة المقدّسة وهي أيقونة من المدرسة الأورشليميّة تعود لأواسط القرن التاسع عشر أمّا الثانية فهي لوحة غربيّة من أوائل القرن العشرين.

The Church of St. Joseph- Bteden Al-Laqsh

The Church of St. Joseph in Bteden Al-Laqsh has a rich history dating back to the early XIXth century. The original church was constructed in the first half of the 1800s but was unfortunately vandalized during the events of 1860. In response, a new church was constructed in 1870 with a cross-vaulted architectural style. Today, the church is known for its stunning interior, which contains two significant paintings. The first is an icon of the Holy Family from the Jerusalemite school, dating back to the mid-XIXth century. The second is a classical painting from the early XXth century.
