كنيسة سيّدة الإنتقال - بسكنتا

تعودُ هذه الكنيسة إلى القرن السابع بحسب التقليد، خُرّبت الكنيسة الأولى مع حملة المماليك في القرن الثالث عشر. أْعيد البناء سنة ١٦٥٠، وجُدّد سنة ١٧١٢. سنة ١٩١١ ذُهِّب المذبح الرئيسيّ.
رُمّمت الكنيسة على عدّة مراحل وحقبات: ١٩٠٧ و ١٩٧٤ و ٢٠٠١. بُنيَ الرواق أمام الكنيسة سنة ١٩١٢. في الكنيسة ثلاث أروقة: السيّدة ولوحتها من عمل القسّ بطرس القبرصيّ الراهب اللبنانيّ، وهو أوّل رسّام في جبل لبنان القديم، مار جرجس، ومار يوحنّا المعمدان. هذه الكنيسة هي الأقدم في بسكنتا، وكانت أروقتها مقسومةً قديمًا بين الموارنة والروم الكاثوليك والروم الأرثوذكس، رعيّة واحدة لكنائس مختلفة!

Our Lady of the Assumption - Baskinta

The first church dates back to the VIIth century, yet it was destroyed with the Mamluk’s invasion in the XIIIth century. The church was rebuilt in 1650, and renewed in 1712. In 1911 the high altar was gilded. The church was renewed several times during its long history: 1907, 1974, and 2001. In 1912 a narthex was added with an Antipendium. The church is in a basilical plan and divided by three naves: Our Lady’s with a Madonna painting drawn by Boutros el Qobrsy the Lebanese Cypriot monk and the first known painter in Mount Lebanon, St John the baptist, and St George. This church is the oldest in Baskinta, in earlier times the naves where divided between the village's Christian communities: the Maronites, the Melkite, and the Greek Orthodox. One parish for three christian communities.

The church dates back to the Phoenician era with a high vault. The great frensh orientalist Ernest Renan retraced its history with its huge stone pillars. The church had a great Phoenician tympant with two snakes revolving around a globe. The huge stone was taken to the Louvre museum by Renan.
The final stage and most recent construction dates back to 1870 when the church was rededicated by bishop Yousef el Marid.

تعود الى العهد الفينيقي لأنها مبنيّة بعقد قصبة مرتفعة وكانت معبدًا وثنيًّا.
أشار إرنست رينان الى وجود اعمِدة أثريّة استُعملت في مداميك البناء. رُمّمت وزيد عليها مع تعاقب المراحل التاريخيّة.
رينان انتزع عتبة الكنيسة وأرسلها الى متحف اللوفر في باريس، وهي تحمل نقشًا من الرموز التي كانت شائعةً في الدين الفينيقي يمثّل كرةً تلتفُّ حولها حيّاتٌ مجتمعة الأذناب في أعلاها
رُمِّمت هذه الكنيسة عدَّة مرّات، وكُرِّست عام 1870 بيد المطران يوسف المريض. وصورة مار جرجس فيها هي بريشة الرسّام بولس شلافك

مزار مار جرجس الباطية - صربا

في أسفل الشير الصخري عند شاطىء صربا توجد مغارة طبيعية تعرف بـ"الباطية" وهي تعني "إناء للماء"، إذ تتضمّن المغارة حوضًا صخريًّ تملأه مياه البحر المحاذي للموقع.
فوق المغارة كان يوجد في السابق معبد قديم مكرّس لعبادة البعل. لقد شيّد المسيحيّون في الموقع كنيسةً كبيرةً كانت قد فُرشت أرضيتها بفسيفساء جميلة لم يبق منها سوى بعض الأجزاء. ومن ثم استُبدلت هذه العادات والتقاليد برموز مسيحيّة، فتحوّل الموقع إلى مزار للقديس جرجس، وأصبح السكان المحليّون يقصدون الموقع ويقدمون النذور للقديس جرجس لشفاء الأطفال من الأمراض المستعصية والنساء من مشاكل العقم.

The Shrine of St George El Batyeh - Sarba

Under a huge limestone cliff on the coast of Sarba there is a natural cave known as el Batyeh (meaning the water vessel) because it retains water from the neighboring sea. Over the cave, the Phoenicians erected a temple for Baal, that early christians converted to a church with mosaic flooring. Some of the mosaics are still visible. After the paleochristian era, the local pilgrimage and vitive customs attributed to the site were converted. The shrine was dedicated to St George, with an emergence of votive pilgrimage piety surrounding the place.
