كنيسة مار سابا - عبدينأواخر القرن الثامن عشر استوطن عبدين عائلات من الفلّاحين شركاء لمشايخ آل صعب، وبنوا لهم قبوًا صغيرًا ليكون كنيسةً مكرّسة لمار سابا. سنة ١٨٨٤ بوشر بناء الكنيسة الحاليّة بسعي الخوري يوحنّا العلم وتمّ البناء سنة ١٨٨٩. تحوي الكنيسة لوحة لمار سابا من عمل كنعان ديب تعود لسنة ١٨٥٣.The church of St Sabas - AbdinAt the end of the XVIIIth century, the village of Abdin was inhabited by families who worked for the Saabs, a local feudal family. The first inhabitants built a small vault to be dedicated as a church. In 1884 with the aid of Fr Youhanna El Alam a new church began to be built. The construction was done in 1889. The church holds a painting of St Sabas by Kanaan Dib dating back to 1853.

بُنيت الكنيسة سنة ١٧٥٥ في عهد البطريرك يعقوب عوّاد وكرّسها المطران سمعان عوّاد اسقف صيدا. هي اولى الكنائس المارونيّة التي بنيت في منطقة شرقيّ صيدا وساحل جزّين. تتميّز بهندستها البسيطة وبالنقوش على أعتاب أبوابها المنخفضة. خُرّبت إبّان الحرب الأهليّة وأعيد ترميمها في تسعينات القرن العشرين.

The church was built in 1755 during the pontificate of Patriarch Jacob Awad and was consecrated by Sidon’s bishop Simon Awad. It is the first maronite church in the vicinity of Sidon. The architecture is simple and doted with symbolic arabesque over the small narrow doors. During the civil war it was heavily damaged and restored during the nineties.

كنيسة مار يوحنّا المعمدان - زبدين

هي كنيسة البلدة الرعائيّة بُنيت سنة ١٨٨١. البناء كناية عن عقدٍ مصالبٍ ينتهي بحنية. شفيع الكنيسة هو مار يوحنّا المعمدان ويُحتفل بعيده يوم قطع رأسه في ٢٩ آب. تضم الكنيسة لوحةً تمثل حدث استشهاد يوحنّا المعمدان، ونقش على الباب بمثل عماد المسيح.

The church of St John - Zebdine

The church is Zebdine’s parrochial church, it was built in 1881. It consists of a cribbed vault. The church is dedicated to St John the Baptist and it commemorates him on the 29th of August the feast of his martyrdom. The church holds a painting depicting the martyrdom of St John and an ornate wooden door depicting the Theophany.

دير مار بطرس وبولس - عشقوت

بنى البطريرك بولس مسعد الدّير في النصف الثاني من القرن التاسع عشر، وجعله مركزًا بطريركيًّا له إبّان حبريته. استقدم للكنيسة تمثالين رخاميّين والأواني من روما، مع مجموعة من اللوحات الصغيرة. أمّا اللوحة الكبيرة فوق المذبح وسط الكنيسة، فهي من عمل داود القرم. بعد وفاته، دُفن البطريرك في الكنيسة، وأوقف الدّير لعائلة مسعد. تحوّل في فترةٍ من الزمن إلى مدرسة، والآن يخوض عمليّة ترميم لإبراز قيمته التاريخيّة.

The monastery of Sts Peter and Paul - Ashkout

The monastery was built in the second part of the XIXth century by patriarch Boulos Massaad, and he resided in it during his pontificate. The patriarch acquired for the church two roman marble statues of Sts Peter and Paul, and many paintings. The great painting over the high altar is by Dawoud El Qorm. After the death of the patriarch the monastery became in the possession of the Masaad family, it was converted into a school for a while and now it is undergoing a restoration plan to bring out the historical value of the place.
