دير مار يوسف للآباء الكرمليّبن – بشرّي

تعود رسالة الآباء الكرمليّين في منطقة بشرّي إلى أواخر القرن السابع عشر. سكنوا أوّلاً دير مار أليشاع القديم وانتقلوا سنة ١٧٠٤ إلى دير مار سركيس. في ٩ آذار سنة ١٩٠٥، قام الأب سيريل دي سانتا ماريا، النائب الرسولي لجبل الكرمل، بزيارة بشرّي فاستقبله الأهالي وطالبوه بتوسيع الرسالة وإقامة مدارس. بدأ أبناء بشرّي البناء بمساعدات من فرنسا وبلجيكا وألمانيا سنة ١٩٠٨. سنة ١٩١٠ أكمل الأب جيوسيبي داربينو الجناح بناء الدّير والكنيسة، بمساعدة الكاردينال غوتي. الكنيسة كناية عن سوقٍ واحد بحنية نصف دائريّة وسقفٍ بغداديّ. الكنيسة مزيّنة بجدرانيّات للرسّام جرجس ديب الأورشليميّ وتمثل عدّة مشاهد من وحي روحانيّة الكرمل. يُعرف الدّير محليًّا "بالبادريّة" وهي تعريب لكلمة بادري أي الأب.

The Carmelite Convent of St Joseph - Bcharreh

The Carmelite mission Bcharreh goes back to the late XVIIth century. The fathers resided in St Elishah and moved in 1704 to St Sergius. On the 9th of March 1905 the Carmelite provincial Cyril Da Santa Maria visited the town and was demanded by the locals to enlarge the mission and build schools. After that the locals began building with financial help from France, Belgium, and Germany in 1908. Construction was completed in 1910 with Padre Joseppe Darbino who completed the building with the church with the help of Cardinal Gotti. The church consists of a single roofed nave with a semi circular apse. The church is decorated with frescoes by Gerges Dib from Jerusalem.

كنيسة مار سمعان العاموديّ - عوسطا

هي كنيسة البلدة الرعائيّة. أُتِمّت بسعي رئيس الجمهوريّة آنذاك الشيخ بشارة الخوري في خمسينيّات القرن العشرين. نمط البناء بازيليكيّ بسيط، مع واجهة نيوغوطيّة. تتميّز الكنيسة بمذابحها الثلاث وجرن عمادها من الرخام الأبيض المنحوت، كذلك ثلاث لوحات تعود لمدرسة الأرت ديكو.

The church of St Simon the Stylite - Ghosta

The church is Ghosa’s parish church. It was built with the aid of then president Sheikh Bechara el Khoury in the fifties of the XXth century. Its style is basilical with a neo gothic facade. The church holds three ornate white marble altars and a baptistery, with three art deco paintings.

كنيسة مار لابا - الميدان جزّين

سنة ١٧٤٢ إنتُخب المطران سمعان عوّاد الحصرونيّ بطريركًا وجعل كرسيّه في بلدة الميدان الجزينيّة. حمل أهل حصرون معهم شفاعة مار لابا أو يهوذا الرسول إلى الميدان وبنوا له مقامًا صغيرًا. سنة ١٩٠٣ بعناية الخوري يعقوب عوّاد، بُنيت الكنيسة الحاليّة، وهي كناية عن عقدٍ مصالبٍ ينتهي بحنيةٍ نصف دائريّة. وجلب مغتربو البلدة لوحة مار لابا من المكسيك سنة ١٩٢١ وهي من عمل سارييا زاكاتيكاس. وسّعت الكنيسة ورمّمت عدّة مرّات في النصف الثاني من القرن العشرين.

The church of St Laba - Al Midane Jezzine

In 1742 bishop Semaan Awad was elected patriarch, and made his patriarchal seat in Al Midane. Since he was originally from Hassroun he built a shrine for St Jude the apostle (Laba or Tedy) in the village. In 1903 the current church was built, with the efforts of Fr. Yaqoub Awad. The structure consists of a crossed vault ending with a semi circular apse. The church was renovated many times during the latter half of the XXth century. The painting of St Leba was donated by the village’s diaspora in Mexico in 1921 it is the work of Saria Zakaticas.
