بُنيَ الدّير على تلّةٍ في ضواحي زكريت على ضفاف نهر الكلب. الكنيسة القديمة بُنيت على أنقاض هيكلٍ وثنيّ عقب حملة المماليك على كسروان، وجُدِّدت سنة ١٦٨٥، بحسب كتاب تاريخ الأزمنة للبطريرك إسطفان الدويهيّ. إستلمت الرهبانيّة الأنطونيّة المارونيّة الكنيسة وبنت ديرًا سنة ١٧١٦. أمّا الكنيسة الجديدة فبنيت سنة ١٨١٠ بإعتناء الأمير حسن قاسم الشهابي، أيّام رئاسة الأب يوسف البشابيّ العامّة. لوحة مار عبدا هي من عمل داود القرم، سنة ١٨٨٤. وفي الكنيسة لوحة أُخرى للقدّيس من عمل أسعد رنّو. يقصد هذا الدّير المؤمنون طالبين شفاعة مار عبدا العجائبيّ خصوصًا النّساء العواقر والأطفال المرضى.Built on a hill in the vicinity of Zakrit near Nahr El Kalb, the first church was built over the ruins of a roman temple after the Mamluk’s campaign on Kesserwan and renovated in 1685 according to Patriarch Estephan El Douaihy in his book Tarikh al Azmina. The Antonine Maronite Order acquired the church and the monks built a new monastery in 1716. In 1810 a new church was built on top of the first one with the help of Prince Hassan Abou Qasem Shehab, when Fr Youssef al Bchabby was abbot. The main painting is the work of Dawoud el Qorm, dating back to year 1884. Another painting of the saint is kept in the church and is the work of Assad Renno. St Abda’s church is believed to be miraculous especially for baron ladies and sick children

كنيسة مار يوسف - عشقوت

كنيسة مار يوسف في محلّة جبل عشقوت، تم تشييدها سنة ١٩٢٦. الكنيسة وقف لآل موسى بنوها لبُعد مساكنهم عن البلدة. الكنيسة صغيرة عبارة عن عقدٍ مصالبٍ، إختبأ فيها الفراريّة خلال الحرب العالميّة الثانية.

The Church of St. Joseph - Ashqout

The Church of St. Joseph is located in the mountains surrounding Ashqout and was built in 1926 as a private chapel for the Moussa family. They built it because their homes were far away from the village center. The church is a small crossed vault and housed fleeing outlaws during World War II.

محبسة مار شلّيطا - وادي المذابح حدشيت

وادي المذابح هو من روافد الوادي المقدَس، وفيه محبسة مار أرتاميوس (شليطا) وتعود للقرن الحادي عشر. مؤلّفة من عقد سريريّ ينتهي بحنية نصف دائريّة، البناء أصبح اليوم أثرًا. في الموقع بقايا عظام بشريّة.

The Hermitage of St Chalita - The valley of Mazabeh Hadsheet

The valley of Mazabeh is a part of the Holy Valley descending from Hadsheet. In the valley stands the hermitage of St Artemius (Chalita in syriac) dating back to the XIth century. The building is in ruins consisting of a cribbed vault ending with a semi circular apse. The church contains remains of human bones.

يعود بناء الدّير إلى القرون الوسطى، لكنّ الموقع يحوي الكثير من الآثار التي تشير الى استخدامه كحصن بسبب موقعه الاستراتيجيّ. وتشير التقاليد والموروثات أن الموارنة تحصّنوا به إبّان حملة المماليك على جبّة بشرّي. بقي الدّير لمدّةٍ طويلةٍ مزارًا لأهل البلدة. رممّ الموقع سنة ٢٠١٥ وكرّسه البطريرك بشارة بطرس الراعي. يتألف الموقع من الكنيسة الأثريّة بقلب المغارة، آثار القلالي والحديقة الجديدة.
The monastery of the Prophet Elijah - Hadshit

The monastery dates back to the middle ages yet the site was an antique garrison due to it’s strategical location. According to tradition the maronites took refuge in the monastery during the Mamluk’s campaign on the region of Jebbe. The monastery was a shrine for a long period of time. It was restored in 2015 and consecrated by the Patriarch Bechara Boutros el Raii. The site includes the cave church, the ruins of the cells and the new garden.
