كنيسة سيّدة النجاة - عين شقيق وطى الجوزيعود تاريخ البناء إلى العام ١٧٠٦، تزامنًا مع عودة الموارنة التدريجيّة إلى أرضهم التي كانوا هُجِّروا منها بعد حملة المماليك. وقد بُنِيَت في أرض الشيخين حصن وصخر ولدا الشيخ ابو قانصوه فيّاض الخازن من غوسطا، لذلك تُعرَف بـ "عين شقيق". سكن الدير أوّلاً الرهبان الأنطونيّون سنة ١٧٢٠ الى سنة ١٧٣٩ بعدهم الرهبان الأرمن عام ١٧٥٠ ولكنّهم ما لبثوا أن تركوها بعد مدّة وجيزة. عقد فيها مجمع عين شقيق، سنة ١٧٨٦ عقب المجمع اللبنانيّ، أيّام البطريرك يوسف اسطفان، ومن أبرز المواضيع التي تداولها اعتماد دير بكركي مقرًّا للبطريركيّة، والتنسيق بين الأساقفة والأعيان ودور كلّ منهما في الأبرشيّة. كما وطرح قضيّة الراهبة هنديّة عجيمي التي حُرِمَت فيما بعد. وثبّت آباء المجمع عيد مار يوحنّا مارون، في اليوم الثاني من شهر آذار وكان يُحتَفَل به آنفًا في التاسع من شباط مع مار مارون. اختتم المجمع أعماله على عجل يوم الإثنين ١١ أيلول، بسبب وفاة المطران أرسانيوس شكري. اليوم، لم يبقَ من الدير سوى غرفتَين متلاصقتين بالكنيسة، وجدران غرفة ثالثة منفصلة. أمّا صورة السيّدة فهي بريشة كنعان ديب الدلبتاوي، قدّمها الخوري جرجس لطيف عام ١٨٥٤.The church of Our Lady of Deliverance - Ain shqaiq Wata el JawzThe church dates back to 1706, recurring with the Maronite’s return to there ancestral lands after the Mamluk’s campaign. The church was built in the land of the two lords brothers Hosn and Sakher sons of Abu Qanso Fayad el Khazen from Ghosta, hence the name Ain Shqaiq (brothers in arabic). The complex was inhabited first by the Antonine monks from 1720 to 1739 and for a short period by the Armenian monks in 1750. In this church was held the council of Ain Shqaiq in 1786, during the pontificate of Patriarch Youssef Estefan. The council decreed that the patriarchal residence should be in Bkerke, the nature of the relations between the bishops and the lords, the case of nun Hindye Ajaimy later excommunicated, and it appointed the feast day of St John Maroun on 2 March (it used to be celebrated on the same day as St Maroun.) The council came abruptly to an end on the 11th of September due to the death of bishop Arsanios Shekry. Today all what remains of the complex are two rooms adjacent to the church. The painting of the Madonna is by Kanaan Dib donated by Fr Gerges Lteif in 1854.

سنة ١٨٣٣ بنى الرهبان اليسوعيّون الدير على انقاض محبسة للأنطونيّين، وجلبوا أيقونة سيدة النجاة بعد سنة وهي رسم ساسو فيراتو. في هذه الكنيسة بدأت الأخويات المريميّة الاحتفال بالشهر المريمي سنة ١٨٣٧. سنة ١٨٥٦ كان بناء الكنيسة الكبيرة، التي كان مقرّرًا أن تكون على اسم مار يوحنا فرنسيس رجيس، فما برح الشعب يرتل ترنيمةً مريميّة فجاءت هذه الحادثة كرسالة دفعت لتكريس الكنيسة على اسم السيدة. حمت السيدة اهالي بكفيا من مجازر سنة ١٨٦٠ وداء الهواء الأصفر سنة ١٨٦٧، واليها تنسب العديد من المعجزات. سنة ١٨٧٣ أُسّست فيها جمعية راهبات القلبين الأقدسين. كذلك بزغت فيها دعوة القديسة رفقا، بطرسية الريّس التي كانت ابنة الأب كليم الجميّل اليسوعيّ، وسمعت في هذه الكنيسة نداء "بتترهبي" الذي دفعها لدخول الحياة الرهبانية في ٩شباط ١٨٥٥ في هذا الدير.

The Jesuit order started the mission in Bikfaya in 1833 building the monastery over an old Antonine hermitage, and brought an icon of Our Lady painted by Sasso Ferrato the very next year. In this church the Marian confraternities began celebrating the month of Mary in 1838. The church was built in 1856, during the consecration the church was planned to be dedicated to St John Francis Regis, yet the people began singing a Marian hymn, the superiors read that as a sign and dedicated the church to Our Lady. The Miraculous Virgin protected the villagers from the massacres of 1860, and the cholera pandemic in 1867, and she is known for her miraculous interventions. The congregation of The Blessed Hearts was inaugurated In this church in 1873. And in it the young St Rafqa, Boutrsye el Rayes, who was the spiritual daughter of the jesuit Fr. Kalim el Gemayel, heard the calling of The Madona telling her “you will become a nun”, which lead her to enter the monastic life on the 9th of march 1855.

بحسب البطريرك الدويهيّ بني الدّير سنة ١٣٣٩. كان دير مرت مورا أوّل كرسي لمطرانيّة إهدن، قبل انتقالها إلى دير مار سركيس رأس النهر. سنة ١٦٩٥ أعطى البطريرك الدويهيّ الدّير لمؤسسي الرهبانيّة الحلبيّة اللبنانيّة ليختبروا قانونهم الجديد وحياتهم المشتركة، فانضمّ إليهم آخر ناسك عاش فيه وهو أنطونيوس الإهدني. سنة ١٦٩٨ انشقّ بعض الرهبان عن القرعلي وأسسوا رهبانيّة جديدة مع جبرايل حوّا في مارت مورا لم تدم طويلًا. يتألّف الدير من كنيسة ذات عقد سريريّ، وغرفة كبيرة ملاصقة. رُمّم الدّير سنة ١٩٨٣.

The monastery of St Moura - Ehden

According to Patriarch Doueihy the monastery was built in 1339, and was the first seat for the bishops of Ehden before they moved tho St Serge’s monastery. In 1695 Patriarch Doueihy gave the monastery to the newly founded Alepan Lebanese Order, so the founding fathers could experience their new monastic rule and communal life. The last hermit of the monastery Antonios el Ehdeny joined the order. In 1698 the first split in the order happened and some monks decided to start a new order with Gebrayel Hawa in Mart Moura. This second order didn’t persist. The monastery consists of a crib vaulted church with an adjacent room, and was restored in 1983.

كنيسة مار إدنا - عين عكرين

تقوم كنيسة مار إدنا في خراج بلدة عين عِكرين. بنيت على عِدَّة مراحل على أنقاضٍ رومانيّة قديمة. فهي بسوقٍ واحدٍ بعقدٍ سريريّ يحتوي على حنيَّة مُكوَّرة، وثلاثة قناطر في الجدار الجنوبيّ. على الحائط الشماليّ، بقايا جِداريّة، تعود الى القرون الوسطى . في الكنيسة لوحة نادرة لمار إدنا مرسومة على النحاس، كما وجد في داخلها بقايا رومانيّة. ومار إدنا هو لقب سريانيّ لمار طراخونبوس وهو شهيد من القرن الثالث وشفيع الأذن.

The church of St Edna - Aïn Ekrin

The ancient church stands in the vicinity of Aïn Ekrin built several stages over roman ruins. It consist of one nave with a crib vault, ending with a semi circular apse. The southern wall consists of three arched windows. The church holds a rare icon of St Edna painted on copper, and many roman poteries. The church also holds a medieval fresco. Edna is a Syriac nickname given to St Trakhonios, a Third century martyr, and the patron saint of ears.
