دير مار موسى الحبشيّ - مار موسى

بناء الدير يعود إلى سنة ١٦٥٦، سكنه أوّلاً رهبانًا عبّادا. إنضمّ هؤلاء الرهبان المتنسّكون سنة ١٧٥٧، إلى الرهبانيّة اللبنانيّة، وسلّموها الدير بموجب صكّ مكتوب، في عهد الأب العام جرجس قشّوع. كان للدير بعض أملاكٍ حين تسلّمته الرهبانيّة. أمّا بقيّة أملاكه فاتّصلت إلى الرهبانيّة بوجه الشراء من أعيان الطائفة الدرزيّة بعناية الأب العام إغناطيوس بليبل. في السنة ذاتها عقدت الرهبانيّة مجمعها في ربوعه وانتخب الرهبان الأب اقليموس المزرعاني رئيسا لهم على الرغم من معارضة البطرك طوبيا الخازن، وقد ادى هذا الإنتخاب الى انقسام الرهبانية الى بلدية وحلبية في العام ١٧٧٠ وكان دير مار موسى من نصيب الرهبانية البلدية التي تعرف اليوم بالرهبانية اللبنانية. اشترى الدير سنة ١٧٨٩ مطبعة نقلها من روما وعليها طُبعت الشحيمة وخدمة القداس الإلهي. تعرّض دير مار موسى الى النهب والحرق على يد جيش الحملة المصرية عام ١٨٤٠ ثم على يد الدروز اثناء مجازر الستين. عام ١٨٦٣ باشر الأب ليباوس المتيني ترميم الدير وبناء الطابق الثاني والكنيسة الحالية التي انتهى بنيانها عام ١٨٧١. على مرّ التاريخ، عرف الدير حقباتٍ زاهرةٍ. عيّنته الرهبانيّة ديرا للإبتداء، ثمّ مدرسةً للرهبان الدارسين. وعلاوةً على تعليم الفلسفة واللاهوت إعدادًا للكهنوت، كان الدير يؤمّن تعليم السريانيّة والعربيّة واللاتنيّة والفرنسيّة والحساب.

The monastery of St Moses of Abyssinia - Mar Moussa

The monastery was built in 1656, my contemplative monks. In 1757 the monastery was given to the Lebanese Order during the pontificate of Abbot Geryes Qashouh. The monastery had some lands when it was acquired, however most of its lands were bought from local Druze lords during the pontificate of Fr. Abbot Ignatius Bleibel. In 1770 the order had an assembly in the monastery and elected Fr. Abbot Clementis Mazraany against the will of Patriarch Tobias el Khazen, an election that lead to the split of the order into two: Lebanese and Aleppan. The Lebanese order acquired the monastery. The monastery housed a printing press in 1789 and printed the breviary and the missal. The monastery was devastated during the Egyptian campaign in 1840 and during the civil war of 1860. It was then restored by Fr. Abbot Lebaos el Mteiny in 1863 and a new church was built in 1871. During its long history, the monastery became a noviciate and a grammar school.

كنيسة سيّدة الزروع - دير الأحمر

منذ القرن السابع عشر سكن الرعاة النازحون من جبّة بشرّي والعاقورة بلدة دير الأحمر، وبدأوا ببناء كنيسة للسيّدة على اسم سيّدة الزروع بإذن مشايخ آل حرفوش، وحفروا بقربها بئراً. في الربع الأوّل من القرن السابع عشر سنة ١٦٢٥ انتُخب القس يوحنا من بيت قيزوح على دير مار اليشع بشري ودير الأحمر بحسب كتاب تاريخ الأزمنة للبطريرك الدويهيّ، وجُعلت هذه الكنيسة مقرًّا له. سنة ١٧٥٩ هُدمت الكنيسة بفعل زلزالٍ كبيرٍ ضرب المنطقة، ولم يبقَ منها سوى حجر عتبة الباب. أعيد بناء الكنيسة الحاليّة في النصف الثاني من القرن العشرين.

The Church of Our Lady of ٍSown - Deir el Ahmar

From the beginning of the XVIIth century, many families of shepherds relocated from the regions of Bsharre and Aqoura to Deir el Ahmar. With the approval of the local lords of the Harfoush family, the locals began the construction of a church dedicated to our Lady of the Sown, and they dug a well near it. In 1625 Deir el Ahmar had a bishop as indicated by Patriarch El Douwaihy in his book Tarikh al Azmina where he talks about the monk John of the house Qaizouh bishop of the monastery of St Elishaa and Deir el Ahmar, this bishop had this church as a residence. In 1759 the church was destroyed by an earthquake and only a fraction of the tympant remained of the old church. The church was reconstructed in the second half of the XXth century.

St Mary Church, Qsaybeh, Lebanon

دُشّنت كنيسة سيّدة النجاة-القصيبة في عيد السيّدة سنة ١٨٨٣ بسعي وهمّة الخوري بطرس زيدان. تحتوي هذه الكنيسة على ثلاثة رسومات قيّمة لشفيعة الرعيّة (رسم داود القرم، ١٨٩٤) عليها كتابة: "من وجدني وجد الحياة ونال مرضاة الربّ" (أمثال ٨ /٣٥)، ومار مارون (رسم حبيب سرور، ١٩٢٣)، ومار بطرس(رسم جرجس عبدالله أبو جودة، ١٩١١).
من الملفت وجود عين العناية الإلهية على بيت القربان، رمزًا قّل استخدامه بعد منتصف القرن التاسع عشر في الفن المسيحي بعدما أخذ دلالةً ماسونيّةً.
رُمّمت الكنيسة في القرن الماضي وأُعيد تدشينها وتكريس المذبح الجديد في عيد السيّدة سنة ١٩٧٤.
Our Lady of Deliverance Church Qsaybeh
The church was consecrated on the feast of Assumption of Mary year 1883 with the efforts of Father Boutros Zeidan. Three main paintings are hung in the three apses. On the main apse, stands that of the Assumption of the Lady, painted by Dawoud El Qorm in year 1894, with the verse :"For whoever finds me finds life, and wins favor from the Lord" (Proverbs 8: 35) written below the virgin. On the side apses, one can find a painting that depicts Saint Maroun drawn by Habib Srour in 1923, and another one depicting Saint Peter, a work by Gerges Abdallah Abou Jaoudeh, year 1911.
What is remarkable is the presence of the Eye of Providence on the tabernacle, a symbol that was rarely used after the mid 19th century in Christian art for its relation with the Masonry.
The Church was renovated in the past century, and the Altar was reconsecrated on the feast of the Assumption of the Lady year 1974.
