كنيسة مار جرجس القديمة - صربا بُنيت أواخر القرن الثامن عشر ، كان بقربها قلّاية، وهي كناية عن بيتٍ صغيرٍ مخصّصٍ لسكن الكاهن، نزل فيه الأمير حيدر أبي اللمع قائمقام النصارى في عهد القائمقاميّتين، وقد وقف الأمير الكثير من أرزاقه لهذه الكنيسة. والبناء كناية عن عقدٍ صغيرٍ مُصالبٍ ينتهي بحنية. تضمّ الكنيسة لوحةً غربيّة لمار جرجس. The old St George’s church - Sarba The Church was constructed at the end of the XVIIIth century. A "qelleye" - a small house meant for the priest's residence - was built near it. Prince Haider Abi Al-Lama', who served as the Christian Qaimqam during the Qaimqamiyat era in Mount Lebanon, stayed in the qelleye. He generously donated a significant portion of his livelihood to the church. The church's structure features a small crossed arch vault that culminates in an apse. Inside, there is a western-style painting of St George.

طحنيش بنى الموارنة الكنيسة مع قدومهم إلى البلدة سنة ١٧٠٥، وهي أقدم كنيسة مارونيّة في البقاع الغربيّ. الكنيسة صغيرة كناية عن سوقٍ واحد مسقوفة. سقف الكنيسة بغداديّ. تحوي الكنيسة على لوحةٍ للسيّدة منقولة عن موريللو تعود لأربعينات القرن العشرين. مع بداية القرن الحاليّ رُمّمت الكنيسة ورُسم على السقف لوحات تجريديّة.

The church of Our Lady of Assumption - Deir Tahnish

The maronites built the church in 1705 when they came to the village. It is the oldest maronite church in the West Bekaa region. The structure consists of a small single roofed nave. The church holds a painting copied from Murillo’s Immaculate conception dating back to the forties. The church was renovated in the last decade and the roof was decorated with abstract frescoes.

بنى الدّير الشيخ عاد صخر الخازن سنة ١٧٢٠ وجعله للراهبات العابدات. واتّبعت عابداته قانون الراهبة هنديّة قبل إلغاء رهبانيّتها. بقي الدّير حتّى منتصف القرن العشرين يضمّ بنات وأرامل العائلة الخازنيّة اللواتي خصّصن حياتهنّ للصلاة. واليوم هو وقفٌ خاص للعائلة. كنيسته صغيرة بعقدٍ مصالب، تضمّ لوحة العذراء المُرضعة وهي رومانيّة المصدر.

The monastery of Our Lady of the milk - Sahel Alma

The monastery was built by Sheikh Aad Sakher el Khazen in 1720, who gave it to the cloistered nuns that followed the rules of Mother Hendiyé Ajaimi before her order was dissolved. The monastery housed until the mid XXth century the daughters and the widows of the Khazen family who consecrated their lives to religion. The monastery is now a private possession of the Khazen family. The church is a crossed vault structure holding a roman painting depicting the blessed mother feeding the Lord.

بنى الموارنة كنيستهم الأولى في معراب على أنقاض هيكل رومانيّ وثنيّ. خُرّبت هذه الكنيسة الأولى مع حملة المماليك على كسروان سنة ١٣٠٥. أعاد أبناء البلدة بناء الكنيسة على إسم ما باسيليوس وغريغوريوس، وأخذت شكلها الحاليّ سنة ١٨٨٥. في هذه الكنيسة يرقد على رجاء القيامة المطران بولس فؤاد نعيم تابت (١٩٢٩-٢٠٠٩) وهو أوّل سفير بابويّ مارونيّ لبنانيّ.


The first church was built by the Maronites over a roman pagan temple. The church was destroyed during the Mamluk’s campaign on Keserwan in 1305. After their return, the villagers reconstructed the church and it was consecrated to Sts Basil and Gregory. It took its final shape in 1885. The church is the final resting place of Bishop Paul Fouad Naim Tabet (1929-2009), the first Lebanese Maronite Papal nuncio
