كنيسة مار أوسابيوس - عبيدات

بُنيت الكنيسة الحاليّة سنة ١٨٨٩ بسعي الخوري يوسف نصر فوق مقامِ أقدم كان بدوره بُني مكان هيكلٍ وثنيّ ما زالت آثاره ظاهرة في البناء: وهي كناية عن حجرٍ يحوي كتابة يونانيّة وبعض الأعمدة. أمّا تسمية الكنيسة مار أوسابيوس فنادرة لأن الموارنة غالبًا ما نادوه بلقبه السريانيّ حوشب. تشتهر الكنيسة بوجود جحر للنذورات، فمار اوسابيوس شفيع المصابين بالثآليل. تضم الكنيسة لوحة محليّة لمار حوشب مجهولة الراسم.

The church of St Eusebius - Obeidat

The current church was built in 1889 under the mandate of Fr. Youssef Naser over an older shrine, that was built over a pagan temple with some of its ruins still visible: some columns and an epitaph with greek inscriptions. The dedication of the church to St Eusebius is unique because the maronites usually call him by his Syriac attribute Hawsheb meaning the wise one. The church is famous for being a pilgrimage site for people with warts. The church holds a local icon of the saint drawn by an unknown painter.

الصليب - دير القمر

سنة ١٩٢٩ قَرَّرَ الطوباويّ ّيعقوب الكبوشي بناء نُصُب الصليب على أعلى تلّة في دير القمر في محلّة كانت تُعرف بقلعة صور. وكان الهدف من البناء أن يُرفع صليب فوق مثوى من ماتوا دون جنازة في حرب سنة ١٩١٤، وأن يكون الصليب مواجهًا لبلدة بعقلين علامةً لحبّ المسيح لأبنائها ورحمته تجاههم على حدّ قول الأب يعقوب. وهَبَ الأرض لهذا المشروع ألمُثَلَّث الرحمات المطران أوغسطينوس البستاني رئيس أساقفة صيدا. إنتهت ألأشغال ببناء كنيسة صغيرة ترتفع عليها قاعدة يرتكز عليها الصليب، وقد تبرعت ١٤ عائلة من دير القمر ببناء مراحل درب الصليب تُحيط بالنُصب. وفي ١٤ أيلول سنة ١٩٣٢ تَمَّ تكريس المقام. تعرّض للتخريب خلال الحرب الأهليّة وأعيد ترميمه .

The Cross - Deir el Qamar

In 1929 Blessed Fr Jacob Haddad OFM, decided to build a cross on a hill called Qalaat Sour in Deir el Kamar. His ambition was lead by a desire to have a cross raised over all those who died in the war of 1914 without a proper burial, and that the cross would be facing the town of Baakline to be a sign of the Lord’s love and mercy towards its citizens. To accomplish this noble project, the bishop of Sidon Mgr Agustin el Boustany donated the land. A small chapel was built and over it the cross was raised. To help with the project, 14 families from the town donated to build the stations of the cross. The shrine was inaugurated and consecrated on the 14th of September 1932. The shrine was sabotaged during the civil war and restored during peace times.

بنى الموارنة كنيستهم الأولى في معراب على أنقاض هيكل رومانيّ وثنيّ. خُرّبت هذه الكنيسة الأولى مع حملة المماليك على كسروان سنة ١٣٠٥. أعاد أبناء البلدة بناء الكنيسة على إسم ما باسيليوس وغريغوريوس، وأخذت شكلها الحاليّ سنة ١٨٨٥. في هذه الكنيسة يرقد على رجاء القيامة المطران بولس فؤاد نعيم تابت (١٩٢٩-٢٠٠٩) وهو أوّل سفير بابويّ مارونيّ لبنانيّ.


The first church was built by the Maronites over a roman pagan temple. The church was destroyed during the Mamluk’s campaign on Keserwan in 1305. After their return, the villagers reconstructed the church and it was consecrated to Sts Basil and Gregory. It took its final shape in 1885. The church is the final resting place of Bishop Paul Fouad Naim Tabet (1929-2009), the first Lebanese Maronite Papal nuncio
