كنيسة مار جرجس - عمارة شلهوب أعطى المطران المثلث الرحمات نعمة الله سلوان الإذن ببناء الكنيسة ( كنيسة القديس مارون آنذاك) وأوقفت الأرض من المرحوم سلوم بسول سنة ١٨٩٩. اكتمل بناء الكنيسة مار جرجس الأعظم حوالي سنة ١٩٠٠/١٩٠١ من أموال أبناء الرعيّة بدليل تعيين أول وكيل وقف سنة ١٩٠٠ وتسجيل أول عمادة فيها سنة ١٩٠١ كما وتعيين أول كاهن لخدمتها سنة ١٩٠٢. تضرّر السقف خلال الحرب اللبنانيّة فتمّ ترميمه وطرشه على عجل. عند ترميم الكنيسة الثاني سنة ٢٠١٧ تم اعادة كشف رسومات السقف الأصلية. St. George Church - Amaret Chalhoub The late Salloum Bessoul donated the land for the building of the Maronite Church of St. Maron (at that time), and Archibishop Neematullah Selwan granted permission for its construction. The construction of the Church of St. George the Great was completed around 1900/1901 from the funds of the parishioners, with the appointment of the first trustee in 1900 and the registration of the first baptism in 1901, as well as the appointment of the first priest to serve in it in 1902. The ceiling was damaged during the Lebanese war and was hastily restored and painted. During the second restoration of the church in 2017, the original ceiling paintings were rediscovered.

محبسة مار سمعان العاموديّ - بقرقاشا

هذه المحبسة المبنيّة في حرف شيرٍ صخريّ، تعود للقرون الوسطى. بحسب البطريرك الدويهيّ بنتها سنة ١١١٢ تقلا إبنة الخوري باسيل البشرّاني على إسم مار جرجس ومار ضوميط، وما برحت وتحوّلت على اسم مار سمعان العاموديّ. يشهد على ذلك كتاب الريش قُريان السريانيّ الخاص بالمحبسة، الذي يعود لسنة ١٢٤٢، وهو محفوظ في جامعة السلامانكا.

St Simon the stylite hermitage - Bqorqasha

The hermitage is built on the slope of a rocky cliff in the holy valley of Qannoubin. It dates back according to patriarch Stephen Al Douwaihy to year 1112 when Thekle the daughter of a priest named Basil of Bsharre built a hermitage dedicated to Sts George and Doumith, that was rededicated to St Simon the stylite. A Syriac lectionary proper to the hermitage, the Rish Qoryan, dating back to 1242, that was discovered and conserved in Salamanca’s university, attests this story.

كنيسة السيّدة - مراح الزيّات

الكنيسة قديمة العهد وتاريخ بنائها مجهول. في الكنيسة العديد من الحجار المقصوبة المأخوذة من قلعة سمار جبيل القريبة. البناء كناية عن عقد سريريّ ينتهي بحنية نصف دائريّة. تضمّ الكنيسة لوحتين من القرن التاسع عشر: الأولى للعذراء من عمل كنعان ديب والثانية لمار جرجس من عمل المستشرق البولونيّ بول شلافاك.

The church of Our Lady - Mrah El Zayat

The church is an old structure with an unknown history. The structure is a crib vault ending with a semi circular apse, with many spolias from the nearby Smar Jbeil castle. The church holds two XIXth century paintings: the Madonna by Kanaan Dib and St George by the polish orientalist Paul Shlavat.

دير سيّدة البشارة الخازن لراهبات الزيارة - زوق مكايل

سنة ١٨٢٥ بعد وفاة الشيخ بشارة جفال الخازن، كرَّس البطريرك يوسف حبيش حارته ديراً على اسم سيّدة البشارة. كان الدير أوّلاً خاصًا ببنات عائلة الخازن، اللواتي نظمن حياتهنّ بحسب قانون مار فرنسيس السالسيّ لراهبات الزيارة. مع مرور الزمن أصبح الدير يستقبل كافة البنات اللواتي يُردن اعتناق الحياة الديريّة التأمليّة المحصنة. وراهبات الزيارة ما زلن يحافظن على نمط حياةٍ تقليديّ بحسب قانونهنّ. كنيسة الدّير مسقوفة، تتميَز بخوروس الراهبات الموجود آخر الكنيسة وهو أعلى من مستواها، خلف مكان جلوس العوام، يعلوه متخّتين للراهبات العجائز.

The monastery of the Annunciation Khazen for the Visitandine nuns - Zouk Mikael

In 1825 after Sheikh Bchara Jaffal el Khazen passed away, Patriarch Youssef Hbeich converted his estate into a nunnery dedicated to our Lady of the Annunciation. The nuns where essentially from the Khazen family and adopted the rule of St Francis of Sales for the visitandine sisters while remaining maronites. With time the monastery began to accept girls from outside of the Khazen family who wanted a strict observance and a contemplative way of life that is still practiced today. The chapel of the monastery is roofed, it is distinguishable by it’s nuns choir at the end of the church, and three mezzanines used by older nuns to participate in the liturgy.
