دير راهبات العائلة المقدّسة المارونيّات - عبرينسنة ١٨٩٦ غادرت الأم المؤسِّسة لراهبات العائلة المقدّسة روزالي مع راهباتها من مدرسة بطرس شحادة في جبيل إلى عبرين لتداعي البناء وحاجته للترميم. وشاءت العناية الإلهيّة ان تتدبّر الأموال بيد المطران (البطريرك المكرّم) الياس الحويّك، لشراء بيت ومزرعة واكد الشيخاني في عبرين وتحويلها إلى دير ومدرسة، مع كنيسة ذات زجاجيّات مميّزة، وقبوٍ معقودٍ تحتها، هو مرقد البطريرك الآن. والقبو مزيّن بجداريّات يوسف الحويّك. أصبح دير العائلة المقدّسة الدير الأمّ للجمعيّة وأصبحت الراهبات تُعرفن براهبات عبرين.The Holy Family’s convent - Ibrin1896 was a pivotal year for Mother Rosaly the new superior general of the new Maronite congregation of the Holy Family, as the nun moved from Boutros Shehade’s school in Jbeil to the farm estate of Waked el Shikhany in Ibrin. In his diaries Bishop Elias Howayek (later Venerable Patriarch) relates how the money for the purchase was due to the Divine Providence’s intercession. Bishop Howayek transformed with the nuns the estate into a convent with a school and a beautiful church with stained glass windows, and a crypt with Youssef el Howayek’s frescoes (the only Lebanese art deco style paintings). The crypt is also the resting place of Patriarch el Howayek. Since its construction, the convent became the mother house of the Holy Family’s nuns and they are widely known as the Nuns of Ibrin.

سنة ١٨٢٥ بعد وفاة الشيخ بشارة جفال الخازن، كرَّس البطريرك يوسف حبيش حارته ديراً على اسم سيّدة البشارة. كان الدير أوّلاً خاصًا ببنات عائلة الخازن، اللواتي نظمن حياتهنّ بحسب قانون مار فرنسيس السالسيّ لراهبات الزيارة. مع مرور الزمن أصبح الدير يستقبل كافة البنات اللواتي يُردن اعتناق الحياة الديريّة التأمليّة المحصنة. وراهبات الزيارة ما زلن يحافظن على نمط حياةٍ تقليديّ بحسب قانونهنّ. كنيسة الدّير مسقوفة، تتميَز بخوروس الراهبات الموجود آخر الكنيسة وهو أعلى من مستواها، خلف مكان جلوس العوام، يعلوه متخّتين للراهبات العجائز.

The monastery of the Annunciation Khazen for the Visitandine nuns - Zouk Mikael

In 1825 after Sheikh Bchara Jaffal el Khazen passed away, Patriarch Youssef Hbeich converted his estate into a nunnery dedicated to our Lady of the Annunciation. The nuns where essentially from the Khazen family and adopted the rule of St Francis of Sales for the visitandine sisters while remaining maronites. With time the monastery began to accept girls from outside of the Khazen family who wanted a strict observance and a contemplative way of life that is still practiced today. The chapel of the monastery is roofed, it is distinguishable by it’s nuns choir at the end of the church, and three mezzanines used by older nuns to participate in the liturgy.

كنيسة مار الياس - حملايا

سنة ١٩٠٤ قُسِّمت كنيسة مار جرجس بين آل الراعي وآل الريّس. فقرّر يوسف الريّس البقاء مع أخواله في الكنيسة القديمة، لكنّه عاد سنة ١٩٠٦ وقرّر إنشاء كنيسة جديدة لمار جرجس مع عددٍ من عائلات البلدة. بقيت هذه الكنيسة مًقفلة حتّى ستينيّات القرن العشرين حين أّعيد افتتاحها وتكريسها على إسم مار الياس. الكنيسة مسقوفة وتحوي ثلاث حنايا. تضمّ الكنيسة ساعة طنّانة، وتحوي لوحةُ من عمل حبيب سرور.

The church of St Elijah - Hemlaya

In 1904 the old St George’s church was divided between the Rahi and the Rayess families. Back then Youssef El Rayess decided to stay with his uncles, yet in 1906 he decided to build a new church dedicated to St George with a number of the village’s families. This church remained closed until the sixties when it was rededicated to St Elijah. The church is a roofed structure with three apses, it holds a clocktower and contains a painting of St Elijah by Habib Srour.

كنيسة سيّدة الغابة - بيت شباب

بنُيت الكنيسة الأولى في القرن السابع عشر، واعتنى بإعادة بنائها آل الحايك مرّتين سنة ١٧٧٢ و١٧٧٣. خُرّبت أثناء حملة إبراهيم باشا فأعاد ترميمها الأمير حيدر أبي اللمع سنة ١٨٤٠. أخذت شكلها الحاليّ سنة ١٩٠٠ ورُمّمت سنة ١٩٩٠. في الكنيسة عدّة لوحات أهمّها اللوحة القديمة التي تعود للقرن السادس عشر، كان قد رسم فوقها كنعان ديب لوحة أخرى لم تعد موجودة سنة ١٨٣٩ وقد جرّحها فارسٌ درزيّ في أحداث ١٨٦٠، وقد نُقلت عنها لوحة لحبيب سرور تعود لسنة ١٩١٩.
The church of Our Lady of the Forest - Beit Chabeb

The church was first built in the XVIIth century, then rebuilt by the Hayek family in 1726 and 1773. It was damaged during the campaign of Mehmet Ali Pasha and restored by Prince Haidar Abi Ll Lamah in 1840. It took its final shape in year 1900, and then restored 90 years later. The church holds many paintings the most important ones being the old XVIth century icon of the Madona, that was covered by another painting by Kanaan Dib drawn in year 1839 that is no longer present. This painting was attacked by a Druze knight in the war of 1860. Habib Srour drew a copy of it in 1919.
