هي كنيسةٌ مُزدوجةٌ تعود لأواخر القرون الوسطى مبنيّة على ضفاف نهر الجوز. مذبحها الأوّل مُكرّس للسيّدة (والمُرجّح أنّه الأقدم) والثاني لمار أنطونيوس الكبير. هي كنيسة مزار ومحجّ لأبناء المنطقة.A double late medieval church built on the banks of Al Jawz river. Her first altar is consecrated to the Madonna (and is presumed to be the older part) and the second for St Anthony the great. The church is a local shrine and a pilgrimage site
في القرن السادس عشر زار البطريرك ارزيفيان روما والتقى البابا بنديكتوس الرابع عشر، وأهداه أحد الكرادلة لوحة لسيّدة الآلام، منسوبة لمدرسة رافاييل تعود لرافاييل سانزيو أو الى غيراريو بار بيري. في رحلة العودة تعرّضت السفينة لخطر الغرق فرُميت اللوحة في البحر ووُجدت تطفو على المياه بشكلٍ عجائبيّ. بعد هذه الحادثة وُضعت اللوحة في كنيسة الدّير فوق العرش البطريركيّ. عام ١٨٠٢ ضربت الصاعقة الكنيسة، وسقطت على العرش البطريركيّ حيث كانت صورة العذراء، من دون الحاق الضرر بالعرش، ولا باللوحة، فبُنيت على إثر المعجزة كابيلا صغيرة ملاصقة للدّير وهي مزار للمؤمنين طالبين نِعم سيّدة الآلام. زارها قداسة البابا بنديكتوس السادس عشر سنة ٢٠١٢.
The chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows - Bzommar
In the XVIth century, the Armenian Patriarch Arzivian visited Rome and met pope Benedict XIV. He was gifted an icon of our Lady of Sorrows from an Italian cardinal. The painting is from Raphael’s school and is attributed to Raphael Sanzio or Gerario Parperi. On the way back the ship was in danger of shipwreck, and the painting was thrown in the sea with other furniture. It was rediscovered miraculously floating several days later. After the incident it was put over the patriarchal chair in the main church of Bzommar. In 1802 a lighting bolt hit the throne and the painting fell down, yet even the glass that was on it was miraculously preserved. A chapel adjacent to the monastery was erected to enshrine the miraculous icon. The chapel was visited by pope Benedict XVI in 2012.
بداية القرن التاسع عشر، قرّر البطاركة الانتقال من وادي قنوبين إلى قرية الديمان. وفي العام ١٨١٩، بنى البطريرك يوحنا الحلو منزلاً ليكون مقرّ إقامته. سنة ١٨٣٣، بدأ البطريرك يوسف حبيش بناء الدير والكنيسة، وتمّ في هذا الدير البطريركيّ انتخاب البطريرك يوسف راجي الخازن عام ١٨٤٥، ورفع البطريرك بولس مسعد الخوري يوحنا الحاج إلى الرتبة الأسقفية في ١٥ آب ١٨٦١، ليخلفه كبطريرك سنة ١٨٩٠. نهاية القرن التاسع عشر انتهت أعمال بناء الدير البطريركيّ الكبير في الديمان، وأصبح هذا البناء كنيسةً رعائيّة. ومن أبرز الكنوز الموجودة في الكنيسة كأس القدّاس الذي أهداه البابا لاون الثاني عشر إلى البطريرك حبيش، ومكتبة المخطوطات، وبعض الأيقونات المحليّة.
The Old Patriarchate of Saint John Maron - Dimane
At the start of the XIXth century, the patriarchs decided to relocate from Wadi Qannoubin to the village of Diman. In 1819, Patriarch John Al Helou constructed a residence for himself, and in 1833, Patriarch Youssef Hobeish began building a monastery and church. It was at this patriarchal monastery that Patriarch Youssef Raji Al Khazen was elected in 1845. Later on, on August 15, 1861, Patriarch Boulos Massad ordained Fr. Youhanna Al Hajj to the episcopal rank, and he succeeded him as patriarch in 1890. At the end of the XIXth century, the construction of the great patriarchal monastery in Diman was finished, and the building became a parish church. One of the most notable treasures of the church is a chalice gifted to Patriarch Hobeish by Pope Leo XII, as well as the manuscript library and local icons.
بنيت الكنيسة الأولى أوائل القرن التاسع عشر وكانت صغيرةً تعرضت للتخريب بعد حوادث سنة ١٨٦٠. سنة ١٨٧٠ بُنيت الكنيسة الحاليّة بشكل عقدٍ مُصالبٍ. تضمّ الكنيسة لوحتين الأولى للعائلة المقدّسة وهي أيقونة من المدرسة الأورشليميّة تعود لأواسط القرن التاسع عشر أمّا الثانية فهي لوحة غربيّة من أوائل القرن العشرين.
The Church of St. Joseph- Bteden Al-Laqsh
The Church of St. Joseph in Bteden Al-Laqsh has a rich history dating back to the early XIXth century. The original church was constructed in the first half of the 1800s but was unfortunately vandalized during the events of 1860. In response, a new church was constructed in 1870 with a cross-vaulted architectural style. Today, the church is known for its stunning interior, which contains two significant paintings. The first is an icon of the Holy Family from the Jerusalemite school, dating back to the mid-XIXth century. The second is a classical painting from the early XXth century.
